This stat may be wrong but I think I’m right:

Vardy has set a premier league record for scoring a goal and losing. 8 times I think.

The mind boggles as to what the evil Puhl must have commanded his troops to do before the game - "Make sure we lose as I've got a double on Burnley and Tiger Roll", perhaps. Awful though the result was, our second half performance was one of the few times we've actually looked good against a team who defended deep and tried to deny us (Vardy that is) space in behind the defence.

Would be nice to win one or to before the end of the season, though.

It's clear Morgan is now completely past it now, and that both he and Simpson aren't capable of playing the game that Puel (and by extension the owners, since they appointed him) wants to play.

It's also clear though that the lack of another right back or decent cover at centre half is a result of player recruitment that froms from way before Puel's arrival.

It's as clear as day that these two must be replaced, and I'm sure they would have been if that were possible from within the squad. I don't believe that Puel won't know this or won't be able to bring in players to do the job. The season is now effectively over, but I can't see why anyone is blaming the current manager when it (still) seems that the issues in reality stem from the DoF. Puel has brought Chilwell and Grey fully into the squad, and is now working on Hamza. Let him get on with it I say

Can't wait for the remainder of the season.

Luckily I can only make the Soton game.

Ok so now I've changed my stance.

Several players need to go as they can't seem to string together a single decent performance and this league requires consistent decent performances.

We have to give Puel until the end of the season. If by some miracle performances improve HUGELY and our players miraculously understand his football then he should stay. If not then he should be sacked imo.

More than anything it was the lack of desire and need and grit that Burnley did have that got me. This was our last ditch chance at EUROPE and our lot couldn't be arsed. 7th and Europe would have made this season a huge success.

Another possibility is to get rid of half the squad.

Can they only manage to play in a limited way??

Why can't they seem to get how to play like Puel wants them?

Same thing with Ranieri last season. Just don't get it.

They just throw their toys out when they can't play.

So basically we dominated and threw it away?

No and yes. Those stats seem to show that we fannied about to little effect. Which coincides with my interpretation of the RL commentary.

And while I'm talking about the commentary, do we really need a failed Apprentice candidate to tell us, "Game over, season over", with 90% of the game still to play? I thought the tosser was supposed to be a fan.

The worst thing about BBCRL commentary is the occasional appearance of Matt Piper.

Stringer is only a fan of his own career but he'll never get a national radio gig he is so desperate for, he also can't hide his own agenda when discussion the manager or which players should be played

I’ve come around to thinking as we are now a club in transition next season might prove to be tough. Who knows how it would have panned out, but had we had the European distraction this may have had a detrimental effect on our domestic results.

Well done Burnley, provided Southampton don’t win the cup it looks like they are going on a European tour. I’m sincerely happy for them and hope they do well.

The second half gave me a bit of hope that provided we recruit well (Not having Europe may hinder us here) and perhaps move on a few we have the basis of a team that might compete. As for changing the manager??? No idea on that one.

We were a little unlucky yesterday.

I can’t see anything other than a relegation dog fight next season with Puel and no Mahrez.

The script is already written every week.

We are far too regularly conceding 2 goals and then getting a late goal via Vardy.
Does everyone else remember the Pearson days when you could write the script yourself as well? It would be tight, after half time put opponents would score, then we’d score, then they, and we’d lose 2-1 most weeks.

Not good. Something must change. Hard to know for the owners if it should be Puel or a wholesale team change.
