This was screaming out for Vardy from the moment we scored and Croatia were pushing forward but because he doesn't play for Spurs he had no chance.

I really, really hope Vardy gets a goal today for England.

Third place game doesn't mean a whole lot, but this is Vardy's one and only World Cup you'd assume. So I hope he gets the goal he deserves to top off his rise.

I doubt he'll start though. Southgate will go for Kane and Rashford I'd think. But hopefully Vards gets his chance as sub.

Apparently clubs receive around 6.5k a day from FIFA for each player involved in the World Cup starts 2 weeks before the tournament and is paid until the day after their country are knocked out.

Hmm he's actually stuck with Sterling and Kane up front. I thought it would be Rashford starting.

In that case I can't see Vardy even getting on unfortunately.

Personally I think this may be the end of Jamie's England career.
Except for any injuries that may crop up, the young guns will be picked before him.

I'm thinking it's more out of respect to Vardy & Leicester - I know he came on the other night, but I suspect he is still carrying the groin injury he picked up.

He's also rated lower in the pecking order than Walcott from Man Utd. Granted the lad has potential but he's a bit ****ing useless the majority of the time.
