I think Southgate is a lot like Puel as a manager actually.
was great to see Maguire and Chilwell again tonight. I think the team obviously has a lot to learn, not least Chilwell. But you can't say fairer than beating a team at home that is virtually unbeatable at home, who also have just done several teams by several goals.

I even agree that Maddison and Mount were best off saved for another time. Get them in the squad but don't just stick them on for no reason.
That said, Chalobah needs to be playing for a team if he is going to get in the England squad for me. if I'm Will Hughes I'm fuming. Fair play he played 50times for England u21s but if he doesn't get a game for a side then he can't be picked

In the second half we were getting battered with a 4-3-3 and still getting battered with a 3-5-2. The change of formation did nothing.

Trent for Trippier and Chalobah for Winks...neither were to do with a formation change. I didn’t understand the logic for either of them so late on, as they were both like for like.

Not sure our lads springing a half way competent offside trap came out of the Puel playbook either.

Puel has taken over the Under 21’s as well.

What about Walker when he came on? Are you suggesting the 3-5-2 didn’t change anything? Or that you hadn’t realised there had been a change?
