Club Statement: Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha
It is with the deepest regret and a collective broken heart that we confirm our Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was among those to have tragically lost their lives on Saturday evening when a helicopter carrying him and four other people crashed outside King Power Stadium. None of the five people on-board survived.

The primary thoughts of everyone at the Club are with the Srivaddhanaprabha family and the families of all those on-board at this time of unspeakable loss.

In Khun Vichai, the world has lost a great man. A man of kindness, of generosity and a man whose life was defined by the love he devoted to his family and those he so successfully led. Leicester City was a family under his leadership. It is as a family that we will grieve his passing and maintain the pursuit of a vision for the Club that is now his legacy.

A book of condolence, which will be shared with the Srivaddhanaprabha family, will be opened at King Power Stadium from 8am on Tuesday 30 October for supporters wishing to pay their respects.

Supporters unable to visit King Power Stadium that wish to leave a message can do so through an online book of condolence, which will be made available via lcfc.com in due course.

Both Tuesday’s First Team fixture against Southampton in the EFL Cup and the Development Squad fixture against Feyenoord in the Premier League International Cup have been postponed.

Everyone at the Club has been truly touched by the remarkable response of the football family, whose thoughtful messages of support and solidarity have been deeply appreciated at this difficult time.

Thank you. Rest in Peace.

Let’s now be kind to those hit hard by this, and show our support for those close to him when they feel strong enough to appear at the KP again. We can’t appreciate how difficult that might be for them.

So it’s official, no survivors, god bless you Vichai and the other passengers, may your legacy of generosity and vision live on through the club you loved, my club, my Leicester City xxx

Terribly, terribly sad news.

My thoughts are with his family and friends, and those of the other passengers.

Any confirmation on the other passengers? I appreciate it is perhaps not the clubs place to name them if they are not connected to the club, but it feels strange to not know the names of the other victims of this terrible tragedy.

RIP Vichai.

Thanks for all you've done.

The club have confirmed that five people died, including Vichai.

A book of condolence will be opened at th ground and online from 8am tomorrow.

Tuesday’s game is off.
Sorry LCF,the book will be available Tuesday at 8am

RIP.

Genuinely RIP.

It’s easy to remember what you’ve given to this club, but that’s to miss the human tragedy. RIP.

Devastated.

He helped give us one of the most incredible and wonderful moments in sport and I will never forget that season. Above all, he seemed to be a great owner and person who everybody spoke highly of and who invested heavily in the local community.

Thoughts are with his family at this time of grief.

A terrible tragedy. The darkest day. Absolutely heart breaking.

Rest in peace. All five of the victims.

For one in particular I want to say thank you for being the father of our dreams. We will mourn like a family. We will never stop dreaming. :009:

The focus is understandably on the Chairman. But let’s also remember those other victims. They would still be alive if they hadn’t taken the time to watch our team play last night.

Hug your partner or kids a little closer in bed tonight. Call your parents or siblings tomorrow. You just can’t know.

In what we achieved under your guidance was simply remarkable.

You erased the pain of my childhood in Leicester and restored my pride and affection for the same. I will never forget.

Thank you and RIP.

RIP. Simply awful... thoughts and massive love and thoughts with all involved. Truly awful...

I want to acknowledge four people I've never heard of, and never likely would have, that died yesterday. People doing their jobs or colleagues of our owner. It's desperately sad and I send my heartfelt sympathy to their loved ones.

We have lost our leader. Vichai was in charge and has been the main man at Leicester City since 2010. I've called into question many things about the club but I've always felt that we were in strong and secure hands with Vichai. He was a magnificent custodian of our club. His name will live on for ever as a man without ego, with compassion, and with the strength and acumen to lead us to unimaginable success.

I'm relieved that the Srivaddhanaprabha family are only mourning one great loss. We all know it could very easily have been much worse as there were usually multiple members of the family in attendance. Their loss will be immense though. He was their leader too, as well as father, husband, brother, etc.

Thank you Vichai. We did acknowledge you many times and I think you knew how much we thought of you. For me, the little things he did like stashing a bottle of whiskey and some glasses in the remembrance garden before every match, and supporting local fans in need, were the things that set him apart. He was a rich man that knew how to be a rich man.

An unspeakable tragedy for all of the families and close ones of those in the accident.

The club and it’s fans will never forget any of them.

As for Khun Vichai. He changed my little North Carolina family forever. Though I never met him I owe him a huge debt. Thank you.

I'm not a sentimental person but this has really affected me. A truly wonderful man that gave so much to our club and the local community. My heart goes out to Top and his family, obviously devastated by this tragic turn of events. He gave so much to us. We'll remember his birthdays for many years to come. He gave us beers, and cakes, and a time of absolute joy that was unknown in this town. I think I will bake a cake for him and raise a beer for him for many years come. Thank you Vichai, thank you so so much for everything that has made me smile this past few years and for realising that people rich, poor and from every corner of this planet can come together as one. Rest in Peace Mr Srivaddhanaprabha, you were gentleman, a father and roll model for us all.
