Lots of discussion on MotD about the tactical switch by Puel communicated by note via Maddison. It certainly seemed to have an effect.

After all the criticism I've levelled at him, I do genuinely hope that some lessons have been learned by Puel during the last two games. We are so much better when we attack at pace and when we have the right players in the right positions. I've no problem with him changing the team to suit the opposition there needs to be method behind the madness. Carry on in this way and the bastard will have me liking him.

It’s amazing what can happen when we pass the ball forwards and attack teams. We have some phenomenal attacking players including one of the best strikers in the Premier League - I think/hope Claude is finally realising that.

The character we showed to not just collapse after the Man City goal was superb. Ricardo was just phenomenal. I would go as far to say I think we have the best pair of fullbacks in the Premier League - I genuinely can’t think of any I’d swap them with.

Loved how Choudhury got stuck in, made some tasty tackles and pressed them. Bollocks to sending him out on loan Claude, he’s our first choice central midfielder at this moment in time.

What a result and performance.

I just hope we can push on and put in a decent performance against Cardiff. It’s teams like that who try to park the bus and leave with an away point that we have struggled to beat last season and this season, but if we show the same intensity (yes I’m using that word) and quality (yep that one too), then we’ll beat them.

Yup. The stubbornness to that ****ing shit system last season did it for me. Then the last two games we moved the ball forward and looked much better. Hopefully we continue to try and win games then I'm all for Puelis stopping.

The difference being that you would expect a team with Man. City's resources to have more than adequate cover in all positions.
Can any team realistically do this? They have good cover in most positions but you can't have fantastic, world class players sitting on your bench. Eventually, they will want to play. You could take three players out of every single team in every single league and make them markedly worse in every single way so it seems a very odd thing to contemplate. Take Virgil Van Dijk, Mo Salah and Alisson out of the Liverpool team and regardless of what replacements they have, they would be significantly weaker. Take Kane, Alderwiereld and Eriksen out of the Spurs team and it's the same story.

Good analysis from MOTD on Puel's tactical change mid game.

He certainly deserves credit for today.

Lets hope he's learnt something and we can keep it going when we play Cardiff

What's all this "to a man" stuff? Great result. They don't like it up 'em and for once we remembered that!

Auchentoshan tonight. It's okay but I'm not buying in to all the fuss about it being wonderful I had heard. Next stop, I think we'll travel to the east and open the Yoichi.
Had some of that in Glasgow back in October and it was just OK. Then I tried Ardbeg and it was top of my Christmas list.
