Which would be fine if he was a goalkeeping coach. But he’s clearly got a larger remit. Baffling.

He's also most likely the source for all the stories that come out about backroom unrest and gets fed to Percy and co. The rationale being that he's the only person senior enough to know and who has been there through it all.

You don’t think Kasper has ever been better than he was when we first signed him?
technically no, his performances got better through experience but his fundamental flaws are still there, easiest example is his positioning with free kicks, stands way too far over to one side, that's something Stowell should have fixed years ago

Nope. I think his first season with us was his best. He was outstanding that year including his amazing distribution which was streets ahead of anything he does nowadays.

He's a class keeper but Stowell is feck all to do with it.

Claude is unsackable this season.
as he should be, even if they plan to do so they should be recruiting him for the summer with a complete new coaching set up (excluding the fitness and sports science personnel) and you can't do that in season as clubs won't let them leave

Do you think Puel learned anything about how to win a game today. Cos I dont think he has a clue about how to use Vardi

I really hope Claude is learning that this young and energetic team perform at its very best when we are on the front foot playing with pace and intensity the slow ponderous tippy tappy style he tries to encourage nullifies too many of our players.

It’s been over a year and he still hasn’t learnt that, so I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

Just seen this posted on Foxestalk and think this sums up Puel and maybe why opinion is so divided, also probably is best way of summing up how I feel -

I've been very critical over Puel, but then again I was also one of the few fans on here that wasn't appalled by his appointment and argued he would start a rebuild job here.

I'm still torn on him long term but when I consider the clubs around us (just below us) I realise how difficult it actually is to actually achieve success in the fans eyes. We are 7th, we have started a massive rebuild of our squad but haven't gone mad and made too many changes at once. We could still drop off and finish anywhere from 7th to 14th but look at Everton, West Ham, Fulham etc who all blew masses of money that we demanded should be being carried out at our club and yet we are emerging as being a better unit and team. We also have one of the youngest teams and have 3-4 players from the academy likely to be first team players very soon, if not already.

I ask myself what it is I actually want, I'm not sure. Something still feels absent very quickly when we arent doing that well, it's more than the manager surely as everything is pointing to him doing a more than decent job but with many areas to improve on. Has the title win spoilt it? I'd say no, but it might well be how much I'd forgotten how boring mid table football is at any level I've seen my club at. 7th isn't mid table but I dont feel it would be the achievement it probably should be and that's wrong on my part.

I think a lot of our fans are wankers, myself included.

For me, Puel's 'failure' is not that we do not perform against the 'big' clubs, it is that he appears to have no plan or strategy for how to beat bottom half teams that just want to 'park the bus' against us.

Although for much of the season some have also been bemoaning that we don’t turn up against the big clubs with any kind of intention to battle and win, as was proved by our pretty dire record against them up until December. Perhaps he’s solved part of the jigsaw.

Quite right. It's clearly consistency, and not just from the team but from the manager himself in the tactics he employs and line ups he chooses. In the earlier part of the season it was the big clubs we couldn't do. Now after beating Man City, Chelsea and Everton and losing to Cardiff it's the smaller clubs. Currently we're the 'best of the rest' and although I'm not convinced by Puel, he's been here a fair while and 7th isn't bad going. There are things he does that I think are daft, like bringing Vardy back to defend set pieces - what is the ****ing point in that? But at the same time there must be something in the way he sets us up that is relatively solid.

I keep telling my friends at work that I'm not sure how he does it but he's got a knack of winning games that we seem to be crap in.

Puel is so so dodgy.

It's like he pushes the boundaries and just when he needs it, he gets a win or two wins. Perhaps by good performance or perhaps not but he gets it.

Like now. We're 7th, won 3 out of the last 4 in beating Man City, Chelsea and Everton. But still I'm not confident about him. I still don't feel that he's reliable. I don't believe in him. It's a weird feeling.

There are definitely positives. I just think about the potential of this team and it makes me salivate.

Kasper
Maguire
Ricardo
Chilwell
Madison
Albrighton
Vardy

All of them are or are turning out to be top top players. A great spine.

Then we've got the likes of Hamza, Barnes, Benkovic, Soyuncu...amazing potential and doing well on loan.

We could do so much more with this squad but it's wasted.

and you think the likes of Maguire and co will stick around for that?
