Why are people happy to finish 16th or 17th when 9th is a possibility?

For Shakey to keep the job I reckon he'll have to get a minimum 46pts. We're no longer in the position where "just staying up" is good enough.

I'm growing weary of engaging you as you're being deliberately contrary...that said, I'd rather we made a full-blooded effort in the Champions League and finish 16th than finish 9th.

And you don't think we can make an effort in the Champion's league without sacrificing the prem league? Do you think it will even make much of a difference?

Without trying to be contrary I'd rather we went out to win every game. this picking Prem over FA and League Cup and CL over Prem doesn't actually seem to work and if anything is detrimental to a team.

No team has ever been relegated with eleven wins. Very few have gone down with ten. I think it's five years since the last one.

We have ten already.

I think going full strength on Saturday is extremely unwise, yes.

Play whoever won't be starting on Tuesday.

Would rather finish 17th and do everything we can in our Champions League adventure.

Im confident enough that even if we lose this, we'll pick up enough points in the remaining games to stay up still. It's worth the risk.

If the players were as shagged against Atlético as they were in the second half against West Ham, we would get absolutely battered.

Stop talking bollocks, man. You can't play twice a weeke at this level playing with the intensity we do.

16th and a UCL semi has to be a ****ing good season in anyone's book for Leicester City. We can build in the premier league next year.

And FWIW until that post I thought FIF was getting a lot of unfair attention on this forum. Not all of it unfair - but definitely a bit of a lightning rod.

What makes you think we can build in the premier league next year. This year was our best chance. Playing for the champions with a spot in the champion's league was on offer. Next season we offer a Premier relegation candidate with no European matches. Next season is the year to REbuild the squad.

I couldn't care whether we finished 10th or 17th personally, during our one and only champions league campaign in our history.

This is one of if not THE toughest fixtures we have remaining, contrary to what others who are seeking a reaction are saying.

I'd go with:

Schmeichel

Some Academy Kid
Wasilewski
Huth
Chilwell

Mahrez (with Gray playing against Madrid)
King
Amartey
Kaputska

Ulloa
Musa

Which shows how different we are.

I want us to finish 9th AND go as far as possible in the CL. If we decide to deliberately lose at least 3 prem matches in order to have "fresh" players for the Madrid and SF games, it won't get us any further than if we try and win those games in my opinion. Obviously you seem to think throwing in the towel in the Prem will get us further in the CL. I Don't.

This game I put up 2 possible teams and would be happy with either as I said. What I don't want is the resting of 4 players and the playing of 6 others as we did against Everton. It didn't help us in the CL match and it blew the Everton game.

I seem to remember people criticising Shakey for playing Benny in the Everton game saying he was clearly tired after playing so many games recently - and then he plays a great game against Madrid. Okazaki and Mahrez were rested and underperformed against Madrid. Still no point talking logic is there.

I want a soapy tit wank from Kelly Brook, but unfortunately I can't see that happening anytime soon. We all have dreams.

Clearly every Leicester fan wants to finish 9th AND go as far as possible in the CL. But as others have pointed out, whilst it could happen, the chances of being able to play our way every weekend and every midweek is nigh on impossible.

Just because someone says it, that doesn't make it true.

I believe we can beat Madrid on Tuesday whatever we do, but playing a weakened team against Palace doesn't make that happen. You are speaking as though sacrificing the Prem guarantees a CL victory - it doesn't even guarantee a win on Tuesday. There's no evidence it even makes it 1% more likely.

I imagine the liklihood that we finish 9th in the prem and win the CL is no less than we win the CL and finish 17th.

You are simply panicking just as we did earlier in the season when we prioritised the league over the cup. We lost in both.

Soap is not good for the purple helmet. Try engine oil instead.

Realistically we dont need many more points to be mathmatically safe, we should be capable of getting the required points from our remaining home games. We do however need our strongest team out on the pitch fresh and ready to do battle. As for Saturday id rest Simpson Fuchs Drinkwater Ndidi Mahrez and Vardy, Hopefully Wes is fit enough for the bench and get some pitch time alongside Benny This is a game both teams would take a draw and i think thats what will happen 1-1 Slimani.

36 points will be touch and go to keep up.Sunderland and Middlesbrough will not achieve that, so that leaves Hull and Palace as our major rivals imo.
That said I have no idea what team to put out on Saturday, but given the very real centre back problem, it would be a good opprotunity to give the new pairing game time, but that would be pointless unless the rest of the "first" team were playing. I dont accept that fit professional athletes should struggle with four and a half hours of football in a week, and in any case they will have a full week to recover. I managed it in some weekends but there again I was not as fit and not professional, and had to go to work in between.
