I feel like singing a George Harrison song, now.
Don’t you fuckng dare cone on here with your glass half full sentiments.
You damn well know we must look for the negative in everything, right ?
I’m just surprised that no one has been on here complaining about the freebies from the owners today (caveat - it is before 8:00am though), so plenty of time yet.
I don’t mind the freebies, but the fireworks display is a bit over the top.
It would make a mess if it wasn’t over the top wouldn’t it?
I've been warming up my voice for our deferential rendition of 'happy birthday' for hours.
Well despite everything that’s been said on this thread in the past couple of weeks, with the realisation tonight that catching Burnley is going to be incredibly difficult from here, I for one am pretty gutted that we’re going to miss out on Europe.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I can’t see why anyone would be ambivalent about achieving something that, as has been said before, we’ve very rarely done before.
I won't be gutted in the slightest because we don't deserve the Europa league, after playing so bloody hopelessly for some time.
The fact that we’re anywhere near it shows how poor this league is.
Judging by comments on here, a lot of our fans are unexcited by Europa League.
Perhaps the players are the same.
Maybe they don't want to fly thousands of miles to unheard of places and would prefer to have more time off between seasons to enjoy their wages.
They aren't going to earn any more by playing in it. What's the point in having loads of money if you never have time to enjoy it?
A season of three missed opportunities.
Burnley to pip Arsenal, Everton to pip us.
2 points from home games agaist Stoke, Bournmouth and Newcastle doesnt warrant a Euro place.
but 6 away against West Brom and Brighton confirm our current status as a mid table to bottom 7 team.
We will do well to get another 8 points. Dissapointing to say the least.
This is probably the wrongest sentence I’ve ever seen.
What are they likely to earn extra by playing Europa games?
Don't you guys understand the difference between 'anymore' and 'any more' ?
Look it up ffs.
There's probably something in their contracts to say they'll get a bonus for qualifying for the Europa League.
Then when it comes to the matches, there are often appearance bonuses. Plus possible bonuses based on how far they go in the competition.
So not much by the sound of it. Not when you are on £100k a week on the beach in any event.
The players (the ones who aren't given extra time off because of the world cup) would normally return to training at the start of July.
Our first Europa League qualifying game would be at the end of July. So there's time to get players ready to play against the team that came third in the Luxembourg league, even without our world cup players, and without having to drag anyone off a beach.
