Any suggestions for pubs in Bolton before the game? I've had a look on football ground guide, but I'm never sure how up to date that site is.

We drank at The Barnstormers on Lostock lane last year, it is a short walk and there is street parking near by. It's a bit run down but OK if all you want is crap beer.

Not all Old grounds are so close to the new grounds like ours and Rotherhams are though. Cov and Hull spring to mind as a bit further afield.

Most new grounds are more than five minutes walk from the old one. Off the top of my head, that also includes Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Wigan, Manchester City, Chesterfield, Derby, Shrewsbury, Northampton, Swansea, Colchester, Brighton, Southampton, Reading and probably a few I've forgotten about.

Reminds me of the time when I was going to a Bolton match by train. The train stopped at Bolton, then later called at Horwich Parkway, close to the ground. It was the last train that would get there before kick-off.
There were a group of Leicester fans who got off the train at Bolton, thinking that's where the ground was. If they hadn't been behaving like a bunch of wankers I would have told them to stay on the train, but I let them get off, knowing they'd miss the start of the match even if they got a taxi to the ground from Bolton Station.

I'm fairly confident we don't have that many P1 point holders. I suspect our ticket office have been sorting their mates out again....

It's a shame that we're unable to run a smooth and fair ticket operation. The problem isn't helped by the fact the ticket office seems to be run by kids.

It's been the same for that many years though, I can't see anything changing anytime soon.
