Looking at it now I can't believe that is where I fell in love with football.
And it's improved since the mid 70's.

Interesting site lilley, need to get up to our new place though!

No you just want the romantic idea of Filbo back. It is gone my friend. Do you want to live like Forest, i.e. constantly thinking about glory days past, or do you want to be like me and say 'Feck it, the future isn't written yet so lets make it a good one'. Oh wait, that was Doc from Back to the Future part 3!

i think you would rather have the atmosphere of filbo back then the actual ground itself

These photos were taken on 2 separate occasions towards the end of a very difficult relegation season.
NOT MUCH ATMOSPHERE and in all honesty I cannot say that I much liked the ground. It is built in a residential part of the city and indeed has houses surrounding it directly on 2 sides. Car parking is seven kinds of nightmare.
Essentially there is a large multi-tiered stand on one side that looks modern and a low old-fashioned stand on the opposite side (seems to be given to the away fans). Behind one goal a small stand again and behind the other a larger stand. The ground seemed very dated and unloved.
As of season 2002-3 Leicester have built a new ground about 200 yards away.

NOT MUCH ATMOSPHERE!!!... at filbo, are you kidding, with the low roofs over the kop , and being so close to the visiting fans , it had one of the best atmospheres in the country for its size.
ive been to over 60 grounds from all divisions . filbert street was a shed but never lacking in a good matchday atmosphere....

ps. your websites pretty shit hot tho , well done
