I pay for an American site that has a legitimate access, to the Premier League via major American TV Companies. They in turn stream it ( live), I am paying for the service, ( pennies in comparison to Sky etc) , why should that be illegal?

I think it's a pity that Sky only make their packages attractive to people who will watch any football. They do nothing for the fan who only wants to see his/her own team. Do they not realise that a huge number of fans do not give a **** about watching the top six if their team is not one of them

They do their day passes to be fair, which is a damn sight more than BT Sport do. But it would be nice if they offered a reduced price 'season ticket' style arrangement for the days that your club is playing.

I do think that Sky Sports is hugely overpriced and weirdly, the only actual beneficiary appears to be the players and those at the top in the newly branded Prem.

Yeah, and why shouldn't you be able to get an iPhone into the UK without paying any taxes? I'm not an advocate of nationalisation by any realms, but if what you say happened, then the Beeb wouldn't be able to advertise in other countries, which I assume (oo er) subsidises the UK's use.

The company you're buying it from doesn't have the legal right to stream to the UK. The only companies that have the right to do that in the UK are Sky and BT.

I'm not sure it is the Government that is doing this. The Premier League are taking action through the courts and are 'encouraging' the police to take action against parties who are breaking the law.

This is the absolute root of the issue. Each game is recorded. Why can't people in the UK get "season passes" to their team? I get to watch more football than fans in England. It's madness.

The company I work for has entered the live streaming market under this very premise. We've been focusing on countries where the rights aren't so competitive. It's a great product for sports fans (not shilling here...it genuinely is)...the challenge will always be the cost of rights.

NBCSN show the Premier League here in the States. They will often broadcast two games on two different channels live but they also have an app. which allows you to pick any of the other games to watch. It's also possible to watch a full replay of any Premier League game that evening on the same app.

I can watch all of Leicester's games live.

I think at the moment the UK market is fairly minimal in terms of revenue, market share and so on, so although I would buy a pass to see our games that market and that of 14 other teams isn't the goose that lays the golden egg.

Because matches at 3PM on Saturdays can't be broadcast in case it affects the attendances at lower league clubs.
The solution, of course, would be to play no Premier League games at 3PM on Saturday, so they could all be on TV/streamed. If most games are moved to Sunday though, that would cause other problems for people like me who rely on public transport, with the train service being so crap on Sundays.

As Blaarev can testify, a couple of seasons back Premier League introduced new rules that allow Scandinavian broadcasters to show one game maximum at 3PM. Never really understood the rationale behind that one.

That's right and still applies. It's the same for Sunday and midweek games; only one game can be broadcasted live at the time.

Is there sufficient data to suggest that the 3pm kickoff being shown would impact lower league attendance? I understand the intent but not sure it's an effective measure.

I watch streams because I have **** all chance of getting a ticket. If it's on Sky/bt then I can watch in a pub. For 3pm games all they're going to achieve is stopping people who can't go to a match from seeing it. If I'm able to attend an alternative fixture like Gateshead I'll do that and listen to radio for our scores. Suppose one solution would be for teams to actually expand stadium to let fans in
