Must be the only person who thought Slimani was decent and an absolute upgrade on Okazaki.

Slimani is massively better than Okazaki from a goal threat perspective. However, if you want your forwards ferreting around in their own half for an hour, then Okazaki is your man.

I thought that the crowd getting on Slimani's back throughout the first half wasn't necessary. He appears to have replaced Schlupp as public enemy. He was ineffective in that half but ran around far more than Vardy who was ambling through the half like it was a beach stroll. Nobody ever calls Vardy when he can be arsed though.

Second half and Slimani was just about our best player. Overall, he assisted the goal, should have had a second assist, and had two good headers just miss target. He was inches away from two goals and two assists. Okazaki probably managed that over the entire season.

He's decent in the box, but terrible on the rest of the pitch.

So a good attacking attacker?

a bit like costa and Benteke etc... but better on the rest of the pitch then.

Yep.

If we need some donkey work doing, and a good link between midfield and Vardy, Okazaki is your man. But in the box, Okazaki is dreadful. Slimani is the complete opposite player. It's quite handy to have both options that can be chosen depending on the opposition, I feel.

Aye, so we play him in a withdrawn striker / attacking midfielder position where skill with the feet is absolutely essential, we then rip him a new one for being shit.

Maybe if we had a midfield of more than 2 (maximum) competent players at any one time we could play both forwards higher up the pitch.

Managerial change required.

Exciting changes a head, because we sure as **** can't continue the way we are now.

Why? Shakespeare turned it around and had one bad result against Spurs and lets face it had that game mattered to them they would have lost they were playing with no pressure and we were down to our bare bones.

It is safe to say our first 14 players are of a good quality the rest is championship standard Bournemouth were unbeaten 4 running into the game yesterday and they scored because we had a makeshift central defence. The questions we should be asking are unpalatable they are as follows
1. Why was CR given so long? any other club he would have been dismissed by December
2. Did CR actually strengthen the squared? I was say undoubtedly the answer is no
3. Should Shakey of rested players before the Champs league game? I believe it was a wrong decision that cost us a top 10 finish
4. Why do the Prem league give so little creedence to teams competing in the UEFA and Champs League?
5. If Shakey is not appointed will the majority of this team look elsewhere?

I would give Shakey a 3 year deal with targets throughout also I would have the ability to review every December he has done bloody well since taking over the helm and if he stays I think the future is bright.

Another rubbish game. The total lack of quality emphasised by the fact that King was our best player.

Shape wrong. Intensity wrong. Stupid selections again. Poor changes too. And all this against a Bournemouth side there for the taking.

Also, worrying to see the major fallout in the first half between Albrighton and Slimani. They were having a right go at each other. It really isn't a harmonious camp and it needs a massive shake up.

Anyone that wants out should be allowed to go. Several of the new signings last summer need ditching too. Spend big on proven players please.

Why proven players? is that what has brought us success?

You'd give a bloke who has a couple of months experience with mixed success a 3 year contract?

Claudio was given more time than most because he won the ****ing prem with Leicester City of all teams. You can't say other managers wouldn't have got that time because similar scenarios have never happened before and will again. We brought players in (albeit in the wrong positions) but that shouldn't have weakened our squad, players half arsed performances managed that. If the players look elsewhere because Shakey leaves then that's great.

It would be nice to have 2 attackers who can attack. Midfielders are supposed to link up with the attack - and we have 4 of them on the pitch. It's been one of our biggest failings this year.

He won 2 of his last 10. If he turned it around, as opposed to the shock/rebound effect/easier home fixtures that the intial wins could be assigned to, he must have turned it around again at the end of the season.

Had CR been at any other top 6 club he would have been sacked a lot sooner, are you saying that because we won the league the previous season it made him bomb proof? Had CR remained we would have gone down I have no doubt about that so the decision was the correct one to make. the fact is we recruited poorly that sits mainly with the manager just look at his total faith in Musa who has been awful! CR lost the dressing room the reasons for which I suspect will remain inside the club, to suggest that the players did not give a toss is lamentable, all players at every level go out to try and win every game.

We have a decent top ten side that has underperformed this season for you to state you would be happy if the nucleus of that side left speaks volumes FIF.

He wasn't bomb proof, he was sacked. Top 6 club? We're hardly Manure or Arsenal.

I never said it was the wrong decision did I?

The fact you don't even know who you are quoting speaks volumes. If the players would look elsewhere purely because a coach leaves then we're better off without IMO. Mental....

As much as I disagree with a lot of what you say, we have practically kept and released the same players in the other thread. Except for your bizarre dislike for Slimani. So I guess it must speak volumes about you too MaC.

Indeed.

He's clearly a talented player, but we don't allow him to show it as we never play to his strengths.

I agree.

Or admit he is not good enough?

So you are happy to throw a £30m striker in the bin and deem him not good enough, despite him not being played in his natural position?

And then you want us to throw a 3 year contract at a caretaker manager who has won 2 of his last 10 games?

Sounds reasonable.

Let's just remember that when Slimani was playing up top when Vardy couldn't be arsed to play for Ranieri, he was our top scorer and looked like scoring more in each game he played.

Interesting comment from the Mercury

Albrighton furious at his team-mate
As we saw when he was elbowed in the face against Manchester City, it takes a lot to anger Marc Albrighton.

After Sunday, we can scribble Islam Slimani's name next to Fernandinho's.

During the first half yesterday, Albrighton had his Bournemouth full-back pressed into the corner. The defender had the ball, with nowhere to go apart from his centre-back.

Slimani, though, was not pressing him. Albrighton was furious.

He screamed at Slimani, waved his arms, and complained to Shakespeare as he ran back.

While Slimani played a key role in Jamie Vardy's equaliser, if he is going to be as successful at Leicester as his £30million price tag should justify, he has to buy in to the style and energy of his team-mates.

I didn't stay for the 'lap of appreciation' but I did notice that Schmeichel went straight down the tunnel at the end of the game.

Also, strange to me how Vardy didn't celebrate his goal at all.
