I didn't get the over blown criticism of our first half performance, I thought we were pretty good. We were not so effective in the second half until that piece of shitheadedness from Amartey which somehow galvanised us. We were exceptional after that.

Excellent substitutions from Puel really opened them up. He was talking it through with Appleton for a while and they got it spot on. I have been critical of him but tonight he got it absolutely spot on.

In terms of players, Ndidi was exceptional throughout as was Morgan. Maguire is just a fantastic player who is so often overly criticised on here, he was great today also. Massively impressed with Schmeichel as well, he definitely got a touch on the ball when Rashford tried to round him which was excellent and he also made some very tidy saves throughout.

Very happy with that tonight.

I was actually going to post earlier in the game that he doesn’t get the consistency of delivery that he used to...and then he does that!

Silly mistakes were nearly our downfall. General play was pretty good although no doubt will be lots of negatives on here.

Albrighton, Gray and Mahrez were all good going forward and Shinji was brilliant when he came on.

Moss was awful, mostly against us but either way so inconsistent - felt that the Kasper hand on Rashford would have been a pen most days.

Hate the fact that refs just don’t know what to do with corners. The same guy who gave THAT penalty for West Ham against us, ignores Smalling climbing all over Harry right in front of him

What a week for Harry by the way, superb against Man C and now this.

Also a win against Spurs, our B team draw against Man City B, and a draw against Man U. Nice.

Some players have made a living out of getting pens and free kicks for next to nowt. That Andy Johnson was great at it, minimal contact but still contact. If we'd copy him it would be more tolerable. Our lot would make Robert Pires call us a bunch of cheats at the moment.

Impressed mostly by the spirit shown. We were pretty shite at times, giving the ball away etc, but we went for it and stayed positive. Morgan was perhaps my motm for his 2nd half performance. Ndidi worked hard in the middle against classy opposition.

In truth, they should have comfortably beat is but they didn't take their chances so we definitely got out of jail tonight. That was a goal from the moment Albrighton looked up and saw Maguire at the back post.
