Richard Sneekes. Probably the cleanest striker of a long range shot i saw at filbert street.

That goal has always stuck in my mind. Absolutely belter. Seem to recall the ball lodging between the the right top corner stanchion and goal post.

Quick search on YouTube.

Yes it did!

People underestimating Schlupps time at Leicester. Was every bit as impactful a 20 year old as Gray.

Didn't develop as we'd like but when he was Grays age he was highly rated.

I'm still not entirely convinced about Gray, flashes of brilliance but his final ball is as poor as Schlupps.

Ultimately I'd much rather have Gray, but just wanted to point out that Schlupp wasn't always the one dimensional oaf we sold to Palace.
This isn't how I remember him. Agreed, he looked an exciting prospect at first but it faded very very quickly indeed. He wasn't anything like as exciting as Gray, simply because he always lacked a footballing intelligence which was apparent from very soon after he burst onto the scene with a very impressive performance. He never seemed to be able to control a ball with any confidence but instead he hit and chased more often than not; sometimes he got lucky with this, sometimes he looked completely devoid of any ideas whatsoever. I don't ever remember a time I wanted to see him starting games regularly, I always thought he looked pretty vulnerable and that we should have been looking to replace him as soon as we could. He is a player with pace and power, but one unlikely to set the world alight.

I do think he could make a decent left back as he doesn't need to engage in the same type of quick thinking a winger or forward might, however for him to succeed he will need far more clarity of thought than he ever showed with us.

This Leicester-Stoke thread has turned into a Gray-Schlupp rivalry, not really sure but...

Both have some good raw talent. I'm in agreement that at this stage, Gray looks to have a little more ability when actually on the ball than Schlupp. However, he has less strength and athleticism which is useful in the PL.

I think Gray is a better player at this stage. But - he is very greedy and not a great decision maker IMO. He holds onto the ball too long and often misses easy but useful passes. He seems to have more of an ego than a lot of the squad and for me, I would be playing Albrighton ahead of him at the moment.

Hopefully we can coach him properly and turn him into a decent player. I don't think he has the mindset to be the England saviour some are building him to be...

Gray could be a generational star for England.

Schlupp was a Dyer upgrade but could have been an excellent LWB.

I don't know why we have to negative about either of them but that's what people do here.
Schlupp did well but as we went into the Prem and became Champions he was not quite good enough.
His main problems were ball control (biggest problem) and vision. But he put in some good performances.
Remember how he started the move at Forest that led to Knocky's goal and the play-offs, And his goal at Spurs.

Gray is different. He has control. And he has confidence and the confidence to shoot. He just needs time to develop the awareness.

Well done to both of them

I've just caught up with Vardy's goal. What an absolute belter. Enjoyed Ndidi's, but Vardy's movement for that strike is pure class.

I have to agree. Want to see more of that anticipation and confidence.
