As well as Leicester reject Clucas, Grasicki was one of the Hull players who caught the eye - he and Kapustka have been tussling for the winger's spot in the Polish team. Possibly needs must that Hull needed to throw him in at the deep end, but I think with our signings (and that goes back to last season with Inler, Benny and Krammy - and to some extent Amartey) we don't seem to do the "change management thing" very well. That Krammy and to some extent Hernandez seem to have stepped up for their new clubs underlines this.

I think that it is worth pointing out that only Gray has come in from an English club in over two years now.

We did try to get Keane and Deeney but failed.

To support the balance of the squad, we need to focus back here a bit more.

Amartey will make it here next year. He is young, big, has some pace, reasonable control and can play in a number of places. We just need to find his best position. He will be a first 11 player before long.

Not ready to consign Musa, Mendy or Kaputska to the scraphead just yet.

They obviously joined the club under trying circumstances and are young and inexperienced in the premier league. Still time for them.

I'm not writing off the summer recruits. You're right it's too early for that. Assuming we stay up, we'd be wise to focus on a few players with premier league experience.

As BN notes we were linked with Deeney, Keane and Siggy too last summer. Players like Redmond, Fer and Allen were available and in my opinion would have had an immediate impact. I think Maguire is just the type of player we should be looking at.

7 of the starting line up against dull are 30+

This feeds back into a slight concern for me.

It was fairly well documented, during the Pearson years, that Shakespeare was close with the players. It's often difficult for players or coaches to step into the managerial role, due to this close relationship and the need to distance yourself when tough decisions need to be made. It's all well and good the players responding well to Shakespeare at the minute, but to what degree would that hamper his ability to make these tough decisions if he were to get the role full time?

Players are notoriously selfish, but are the main bunch looking after each other, in a sort of protectionist manner? This may not be the case, obviously, but choices will need to be made in the long term and, whilst I'm clearly very pleased with how Shakespeare has done so far, perhaps this should be a consideration when looking for Ranieri's successor.

Very much my concern too.

Needs a clear out and some ruthlessness in the summer. Is our shakey the man to do it?

something I said in the replacement thread a couple of days ago.

You cannot easily 'clear out' someone like Wes Morgan if you rewarded him for winning the League with a £4million+/year contract for 3 years!

Special mention for the twat trying to make a buck out of a crowd funded 'message book' for poor uncle Claudio. You sir are a prick.

Maybe not such a big prick as you think.

Dean said: "We raised over £3,000 for the foxes foundation with over 300 messages to the owners and I would like to get as many fans to say thank you to Claudio as possible."

The owners are businessmen. That money is gone - a little like Morgan's legs - even if they can't sell him they have to upgrade him and bite the bullet or buy out his contract. Same for some of the others.

If you're happy and you know it say "You're".
