I thought the pair of them were obviously being defensive and not wanting to be drawn on the subject of Ranieri. The questions probing 'why the change?' were, in fairness, tricky to answer in any kind of potted way.

Two things for me.
There were obvious tactical changes. Yes, the starting shape was the same but the full backs pushed further up, we played shorter passes more often and utilised the midfield, and we pressed more uniformly from the front.
That's about tactical approach and coaching and, as somebody very much opposed to Ranieri's dismissal, I have to concede that last night was an improvement which I don't think we'd have seen had he been in the dugout. Fair enough - I'll hold my hands up.
However the second thing I observed is the difference in application from the players. It was there in a way not seen since last season. Great as it is to see it return, that it hasn't been on display previously does not reflect well on the players.
Anyway, on to the next one. Hull is a bigger game than last night's. Win and we could be 14th and five points clear of the bottom three. If we do win - whilst performing in the same manner as last night - then Shakespeare, who wouldn't have been near any shortlist of mine, must be considered for the role. And permanently. No halfway house end-of-season contract.
It remains to be seen whether or not last night was simply a reaction to all that has happened and been written over recent days. But what we do know is that there is still a good team in thee so where. Let's hope it stays out of hibernation and begins to really repay some of the debt built up with the supporters over the past few months.

Your lack of love for Vardy
There's no prejudice there. Vardy has played shit for a lot of this season.
I gave him props for his goal against Seville and said at the time that I'd play him against Liverpool as I hoped that would boost his confidence. Yesterday I again said how well he played and the incredible effort that he put in. Should I then ignore the comparison with the lack of effort he has put in earlier in the season? I was also one of the very few who defended him when he came here and people were saying he isn't fit to play for us. I say what I feel given what I see.
To me Vardy is a football player for Leicester, my "love" for him is dependant on how he performs, in my eyes, for my beloved team.
In everything I've seen he doesn't come over as intellectual and neither does Drinky who is one of my favourite players (whom I've critisized as well since his return to the team).

My Man Of The Match was Jurgen Klopp.
In the first minute he did an impressive jump in protest at some decision. He kept this up with an energy that would have exhausted Wilfred Ndidi. Every Leicester player was a Bill Sykes and every Liverpool player a Nancy.. I often find myself baffled by Mr Klopp and the fourth official seemed thoroughly bemused l. I thought Mr Oliver refereed the game well. Next time Liverpool play here I hope Mr Moss will referee as this will surely inspire Mr Klopp to even greater incoherence and even higher jumps of rage.
By comparison Mr Shakespeare is a placid man and I had not previously noticed his resemblance to Moley in Wind In The Willows.
