I saw a stat recently that I can’t find now. Since we won the title we’re the worst performing team in the league against the top six. Or at the very least our record is abysmal.

Anyone remember the last time we beat one of the big six? I honestly can’t.

Lies, lies and bloody statistics

So not lies at all, then

Interesting stuff, MA

So it’s probably difficult for fans to get “up for a game” when the expected result is a 3-1 defeat.

I ****ing hate spurs too. Proper hate them. I’m dreading a defeat today. Perhaps we will dick em. That’d be ace.

Can't change history :(
I will say our recent exploits have had fine margins, which could say we are getting closer :)

Only if Nacho has learnt to play like Vardy in the last two days. I would rather start Maddison and Okazaki as the front pair.

Maybe Puel will go with Söyüncü, Morgan and MaGuire as a back 3 with Chilwell and Ricardo as wing backs.

I’m going to look this up.

By my math (which was not careful)

2 wins
2 draws
11 defeats

I always look to average a minimum of one point per game against those sides - so twelve points over the season being about the minimum expectation for a team expecting to be behind them, and yet competitive. In each of the last two seasons, we've taken eight points from those twelve matches (W2, D2, L8).

Adding together results from all league matches against them since we won that famous game at Man City in Feb 16, we've won four, drawn six and lost twenty out of thirty games.

Puel's record against them is W2, D2, L7. So far this season, we have zero points from our three matches against the top six.

Too often, we make it too easy for these sides. Our losses at Arsenal over the last three seasons were all completely avoidable. Similarly, we've capitulated too often against below par Man Utd and Liverpool performances at times.

Since getting promotion, our record against Spurs is W2, D2, L4.

If I'm feeling optimistic (unusual I know), Spuds should really be playing a reserve side tonight.

They're at Barcelona in a must win match on Tuesday. Given the fact that it's a nothing game for Barcelona, they'll probably play a much weakened team which will give Spuds a shout.

If all Spuds ever do is qualify for the Champions League, actually getting out of their group has to be their priority. If they don't go there and give it everything they've got, they're nuts.

Therefore, we should be proactive and forward thinking and go for them from the start. Also play at a high tempo which is exactly what they won't want us to do.

I'd also be tempted to adjust the formation to support this. Three at the back 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 would be the right ways to approach it. Especially as we're missing Vardy.

Then, of course, I realise who our manager is.

Going by the team selection of both Chelsea and man city this afternoon it seems club's don't bother playing strikers now so we could be ok.

I think we'll go for a 4-2-3-1 with Okazaki up to alone. :(

I think we are going to get spanked. 4-0. Boo.
