read my posting. The £4.5m is not a payment to shareholders .It is the payment by mm on completion of the deal.Shareholders get 50% of value next year if we don't get promotion and 100% if we do.
Anyway s**t is really going to hit the fan later this morning.

OK, I understand now that you weren't talking about the payment to shareholders - but I'm struggling to understand who this payment is to.

And I note your '50% of value' quote in relation to the payments to shareholders - nobody should understand this as meaning 50% of cost.

Can you give us a little more of a hint about this fan who is going to be hit?

Greg Clarke and Andrew Taylor I assume

I'm not sure that the announcement counts as 'shit hitting the fan' in my book - unless there's more to come.

If they were willing and able to put more money into the club...then why didn't they do it back in the summer to ensure a safe or successful season?

They didn't, the Board have mismanaged the club and they aren't going to now.

I wish the Trust would represent the viewpoint of a fan rather than that of a friend of the Board.
No, my point is, why go out of your way to alienate people who are Leicester City fans, who have cash, and who, whilst not terribly willing, were at least able to dig deep between them when we needed it most? What possible purpose could be served by discrediting them and driving them away from the club forever? It's incredibly short-sighted IMO.

If (as looks likely) the MM deal goes through, I will be publicly thanking the shareholders and board members for seeing us through the rockiest period in the club's history and coming out of it with a very positive outcome.
Mr Andrew Taylor... JD, well done my friend! :038: :038:

I can completely understand anyone being unwilling to put money into a football club when it wasn't an emergency. Personally, I don't want to make an investment in LCFC because I know I'd almost certainly lose money (unlike MM who is a rare breed that can make clubs profitable on a personal level). But I would do my best to contribute as much as I could if they really needed me (like last time). I don't think this is an outrageous point of view at all and I don't think shareholders should be hounded for having it.

And I'm sure the Trust will tell you they represent the viewpoint of their members...?

This thread was running the risk of slipping over to page 2, so I thought i'd just wake it up again. Plus the fact that it gets me closer to my 300 mark.

My wife thinks we've got Borrowers as she hasn't seen me since I signed up here in December and she can't understand where all the beer and food is going :icon_eek:

Tell her it was the monkey.

And then if she says what monkey tell her you haven't yet officially heard what she just said.

Great idea, except she has this toy stuffed teddy monkey thing called Harry, so she'll just ask it directly and then it won't matter what I say. Maybe I should kidnap him
