You can now ignore threads. At the top of threads (not this one though), there will be a 'Thread Tools' drop down menu, which contains an ignore thread link.

You can also ignore sub-forums (known as nodes) completely, so if you're not interested in Cricket, for example, you can completely ignore that part of the site. Go to http://talkingballs.uk/index.php?account/ignore-nodes to do that.

Jeff, I just had to re-enable my profanity filter to see the word '****'. Had you turned it off by default recently?

Jeff - earlier when I am at the bottom of a page of posts the 'home' button took me to the topof the page. It isn't doing that now - have you changed anything?

The filter is currently in the process of being set up. I've only just installed it and will post about it once I've finished.

The tick box that was used to select it on the old system was for an add-on, it's not built in to the site. So that tick box does nothing on this site. I've not yet worked out how to remove things that are no longer needed.

Once the new one is set up everyone will have to select it again, unless I can run a database query to automatically copy the data across.

By 'home button', do you mean the home key on your keyboard? That should take you to the top of the page.
The home link at the bottom left of the page will take you to the forum's home page. That's not changed.

Love the look and feel of the new site. It does seem to crash Safari if I "stop plugins to save power" in the settings.

You can now disable the swear filter by going to http://talkingballs.uk/index.php?account/preferences and ticking the box towards the bottom.

Anyone who used this on the old forum and has visited the site in the last week should find I've already ticked the box for them.

Missing:

53 registered members who visited the site last week, who have not logged in to this new version yet.

This includes many well known posters such as drew, fox58, Hazzman, jas123 etc etc...

Does anyone know why they haven't logged in here?

No one has contacted me via the old site to say they can't access this one, and I've noticed a lot of people have still been going to the old one, reading old threads there, but not coming here.

Have they missed the notices to say the site has moved?
Have they forgotten their passwords and can't be bothered to reset them?
Do they not like the design of the new site?
Have they used this as an excuse to bugger off somewhere else?
