Assuming Puel leaves before next season, who would you realistically want to replace him?
if Wagner would copy his best mates playing style I'd take him, wanted Dyche when Shakespeare was sacked, no reason why not now, wouldn't hate Brendan Rodgers either
Unai Emery. But it'll never happen.
So... not realistically then? Dyche won't come because why the **** would he. Wenger won't come, I just assumed that was obvious. Brendan Rodgers has done nothing ever so no thanks. I'd take Nuno from Wolves if he was available.
Wenger will go to the J League probably. Rafa is worth a shout but can’t see him leaving Newcastle. There will be good options and the owners need to make their intent serious and very well known. No more scabs...needs a proper “big boy” appointment.
Some random foreigner who’ll get a three year contract and go after six months max.
Rodgers I actually like. Wanted Wagner forever. Would still be happy with silva I think.
Incey, Incey sort it out....
Dusty fucking Bin.
This is the moment that Vichai shows us all what he wants for the future of the club. It will be the defining decision of his ownership. All previous appointments were of their time or circumstances. Some were right, some were wrong. This is where our owner says that I either want to compete at the top end of the Premier League or I don't. Are we building something or not? We should be aiming as high as possible with the next appointment. Someone with genuine talent and ambition. Someone that can attract quality players and make those that are here want to stay and play for him. Not a has-been or never was. Vichai - it's over to you.
I'd be less than happy with all three of those.
'Realistically' means anyone. The owners have enough money to make our next manager one of the highest paid in the league. Someone who is one the best are often looking for a new challenge. It is relatively easy if you are a world class manager to take the job at Real Madrid or Bayern Munich or Barceleona, but would it be satisfying? Would it test your skills? I think Top and Vichai should ask the best to come. No disrespect if they say no. It is just showing ambition on our part. If they ask Big Sam, they are publicly saying they just want to get 40 points each season. Pick up the phone and ask Enrique.
Aim high, get rejected, panic, appoint a manager like Sam Allardyce. Ad infinitum. We all kow which way this is going to go.
He would be our hero...
The last 2 appointments from outside the club, no one saw coming. I expect the same to happen, if and when Claude goes. If he goes before the end of the season, and they give it to Appleton, I'm sure they will be wary of how that same scenario worked out with Shaky.
Oooh you are awful........but I like you!
