Paddy Power already taking bets on our next manager.

Ranieri at 50/1 is tempting...

It's more than tempting, it's a superb bet. Just had a tenner on it. It's unlikely of course, but the owners did speak to him in October about the vacancy and he is likely to be leaving Nantes this summer. It's certainly not a 50/1 shot.

The owners have form with going back.

Silva being 2/1 is very short and there is no value there.

I've also had a flutter on Dyche (16/1) and Wagner (20/1) as we've spoken to both recently too.

I really can’t see it. Rightly or wrongly, I think there’s more chance of a Pearson return.

I love Claudio for what he achieved but coming back would be a massive mistake, Wagner seems to be the latest name linked and that would be a decent appointment, young and hungry manager who has done a brilliant job at Huddersfield, winning promotion and then making them competitive in the top flight. I think this would be a good move for both parties.

The rumour mill is in full swing this morning. There is a reassuring consensus that we will be in the market for a new manager this time next week.

The Times and the Mirror reporting that our number one target is Wagner. Enough for his odds to have tumbled from 20/1 to 11/2 overnight.

Wagner, f@#$ yeh! I like the idea of his bootcamp. Exactly what this team need, only a proper bootcamp in Syria or such like?

I'm sure the Wanlip Sand Hills are still available.

Wagner was a good shout in October when Huddersfield were above City in the table, since when they've accumulated 26 points - now that's relegation form.

Thought long and hard about this, the club needs a rebuild, stability and over the next couple of years a significant overhaul of playing staff as a number of the squad move into their 30's. There are 3 people who are pretty much available, or will be in the summer who know this club inside out and have shown on 2 previous occasions their ability to build strong foundations, rebuild the playing squad and bring stability and success. Step forward Pearson, Shakey and Walsh it's time to reform the band and come home. There I said it now I will don my tin hat.

Wagner has been one I’ve been touting.

My only slight concern is that his teams tend to struggle for goals. That could, of course, be related to the quality of his front men.

He’d be a lot better than Puel though.

I would also be happy with Wagner. I think I first said he was my preferred choice when Ranieri left. Since then he has got Huddersfield promoted and looks like he’ll keep them in the Premier League.

I really have to apologise in advance here, but......get a ****ing grip

I'd give up my season ticket if we went back to Pearson.

If it wasn't for that cheap piece of shit looking cap he wears at games I'd be all for Wagner.

As it is, back to the drawing board

I don't rate Wagner. A quick look at the table shows that - er - they're even worse than us. So that's forgiveable in the sense that they have a far less talented squad than us this year and a considerably lesser budget but it doesn't mean he'd be the right manager for us. If you compare it to us when we were first promoted then you're comparing him fairly with Pearson, who achieved similar. I personally would rather have Pearson back out of the two.

Like I say, I just don't see the fuss about the likes of Silva, Wagner.. even Dyche - Dyche has done well this year but he's been at Burnley a long time - I think it's highly unrealistic he'd want to come here next season now anyway with Burnley being in Europe but I expect if he did he'd get off to the usual good start followed by basically what we've had happen this season - i.e. not very good football with not very good results.

If Puel is going to go, I'd like to see us go for top quality experience to replace him - Wenger, Benitez, etc, I still think Mancini would be a good fit too - he was who I was hoping for before we went for Puel.

WTF is wrong with people.....

Top quality and Wenger are not related, not for the last 10 ****ing years.

He's failed miserably at a club with the resources of Arsenal in the recent past, why the flying **** would the old bleeder turn that on its head here?

Wenger, Pearson.......**** this for a laugh
