Now, I may be naive, but surely there's no way in the world we are paying DJ, or anyone for that matter, 24K a week.

Seems to change with every story that gets printed. First it was £9,000, then it went up to £18,000, now it's £24,000. My estimate is by the end of September Headless will be the best-paid footballer in the world, so he might as well stay put.

The confusion is probably down to a relegation clause in his contract meaning he would have been on considerably less last season to this.

Or at least two of those figures are made up. No way in the world are City paying anyone anything like £18,000 a week. If they are I want those extra four quids on my season ticket direct debits back. And I'm not buying a mug.

The confusion is probably down to people guessing.

In the people, it is says notts county are interested in d.j campbell, and are not put off by his wage demands.

On BBC gossip it says:

Notts County director of football Sven Goran Eriksson wants to bring former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg and Italian striker Christian Vieri to Meadow Lane.
Full story: News of the World

Notts County are also interested in recruiting striker Kanu whose one-month contract with Portsmouth is due to expire soon.

Vieri, Kanu or DJ?

Are the money muppets going to choose DJ over Kanu. I think not!

Today's gossip from you know where!! :icon_razz

I can confirm that Notts County have signed DJ Campbell from leicester for 500,000. . deal announced monday

also notts are very close to signing Burnleys Joey Gudjohnsson for 750,000

Barnsley are set to make a quick appointment to replace Davey, they will approach Leicester for assistant manager Craig Shakespeare. This will be completed before Leicester's trip to Newcastle on Monday, and so will his first and only transfer of the summer, bringing Andy King on loan from Leicester.

Leicester will replace King with the loan signing of Randall from Arsenal and also Kilkenny from Leeds for an undisclosed fee.

I don't believe anything in this thread, nor do I follow any of the links, I just assume it's all bollocks. It's best that way.

See it is not all bollocks!
