I thought that was a really nice touch by MA to let the raffle winner have two mins on the pitch at the end. Very popular with the fans.

Hope the ref is not checking on his player registration forms!

Chambers was fantastic today, really got stuck in.

Some good cross pich passes from N'Gotty.

Some good passes from MDV, great through ball for Hume's goal.

The two youngsters (Sappleton and Odihambo) look very exciting.

Overall, I was impressed with what I saw. I think the communication needs to be improved. I thought the free kick that 2 players decided to take (3+4) was comedy gold.

Return of the original Post Horn Gallop :038:

Also Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger plays when we score a goal.

What kind of football has MA got us playing?

Is it hoof ball as many on here feared or are we playing decent paying, expansive football?

he has got us playing on the floor, good flowing football and the occasional cross field ball when needed, in both the games i have seen there has been no hint of hoof ball.

Just seen the highlights - the bit in bold is an understatement. MDV looks good! Gorgeous, inch perfect through ball for Hume's goal.

The Clemence goal was men against boys stuff - doing what other midfielders have been doing to us for a couple of years.

All in all, it looks very promising to me...

De Vries was very fast and sharp - could edge out Hume for a starting slot alongside DJC.

Clemence and Chambers were also impressive. Sappleton looked awesome for a 17 yr old. The likeness to Heskey is uncanny. Tried to kick their goalie into Row Z!

agree except the de vries part he still looks cumbersome the jury is still out on him for me..i agree about sappleton he looks fecking huge :icon_lol:

panic not, theres no way de Vries will edge Hume out. Out of 10 today Hume was probably a 7, de Vries 5

i agree with you on those marks :)

Maybe it's this style of play that suits MdV and is responsible for his improved performance. It was obvious from when he first arrived that he wasn't actually that good in the air and preferred the ball to feet.

Good, about time we had a manager who knows how successful football is played.

Thumbs up to MA for that :icon_bigg

Have you ever thought of doing stand up comedy?

Hume had a good game today and took his goal superbly, he has scored, i believe, in every pre season game he has played in, Devries on the other hand hasn't and doesnt even look like scoring.

Best player on the pitch today was chambers, this lad looks like a superb signing; he did everything a good left back should, great deep runs forward and never caught out.

Weso did well when he came on.

Worst performance was from shaun newton who im affraid does not understand the meaning of possitioning.

Most exciting for the future (cant tell from one game i know) was eric odihambo, looked very dangerous.

hope he does that in the season

the ball he played through for Clemance in the 2nd half was equally as good

.

Your takiing he psiss right?

I am shitting myself if we go into the season without a proper left back again. Chambers looked out of his depth at LB and ok when he switched to RB.

Stand out player by a mile was Ngotty. This guy looked class. A cut above everyone else on the pitch.

Im affraid we will have to agree to dissagree because there is no way on gods earth im going to understand how you came to the above conclusion other than you were very drunk.

It woundnt matter how pissed I was mate.

The guy hesitated whenever he was forced to challenge, checked back everytime he went forward and gave the ball away which nearly cost a goal. On top of that he missed a simple trap that went for a through.

Hes a right back trying to play left back. Simple as. He looked ok at RB but just like Maybury at LB.

Didn't rate Chambers myself today. Weston turned him a few times and was very comfortable taking him on. He'll have to improve as I think he will be targeted by many Championship sides this year. Not a natural at left back and it showed.

I missed the feckin match, fell asleep at 11am and woke up after the game had finished......:icon_cry:
