Ranieri out

I would imagine it would be very difficult to convince a promising manager like Rowett that taking a coaching job with us is the best way to progress his career in management. I'm sure he would take the manager's job if we offered it to him but a coaching role? Not a chance. Nothing in it for him but money which he doesn't need.

I don't see why he wouldn't do it, on the condition that he was free to move if offered a manager's job elsewhere. If he does well it could enhance his reputation.

But if Rowett came in and was a success he would be in situ for when Claudio calls it a day, which I think will be sooner rather than later.
Possibly even at the end of the season, depending on how the season ends.

I'm with Chris Sutton. If we had finished mid table last season, Ranieri would be out on his ear by now. No time for sentiment IMHO.

If we go down, I could see us getting relegated again next season.

Where was Shakey against Swansea? Strange how they stood together for much of the Derby match but he was nowhere to be seen at the weekend.

And another thing. Surely Simpson & Fuchs weren't subbed at half-time for tactical reasons.

They couldn't have been tired as they never played against Derby.

Were they disciplined for being insubordinate?

But we didn't finish mid table, did we ?

We won the Premier League, the finest achievement in the Club's entire history and the most amazing single sporting achievement in decades

To fail to understand that is to fail to understand Leicester City, or indeed football, in any way whatsoever

Which just about sums up Chris Sutton nicely and, quite possibly, yourself

That's ok. You must be in the Lineker camp where escaping relegation by the skin of our teeth, then winning the premier title and then getting relegated in successive seasons enhances our incredible achievement even more and is therefore quite acceptable.

I could accept going down this season if we showed some tenacity and spirit.

To go down as we are doing is very hard to swallow because it's all down to lack of effort and that is unforgiveable in my estimation.

To quote the great man Martin Allen..."If my Auntie had balls she'd be my uncle"

It might enhance his reputation as a coach but he obviously wants to be a manager. In general coaches don't get good management jobs on the back of coaching at a successful side. And would he even enjoy it? If you're the type of person who wants to be a manager then you must like having control, but he'd wouldn't have any control. So there's little up side, while the potential downside of joining an apparently sinking ship where he can't make any major decisions is significant. All in, if I was a promising manager, I'd run a mile from anyone trying to tell me that stepping down into a lesser role at a failing club was anywhere near a good idea.

What if he did a great job and stayed on after Claudio retired?

Completely academic of course. It isn't going to happen.

I think the reasoning of the full back subs was that Amartey and Chilwell can get forward on the overlap and in doing so provide more options for getting the ball forward.

Everyone we play at the moment lets us have the ball at the back but stays tight to our midfield four, restricting our options for moving the ball forward. Eventually our defenders have no choice but to hoof it up top. With more attacking full backs you can do little give and go's which get our full backs up the pitch with the ball from where they can start more meaningful attacks.

I thought quite a bit about this and it's the only way I can explain that Amartey substitution on Sunday, which on the face of it made no sense. Replacing a full back when you're 2-0 down seems ridiculous. But in fact when all of our attacks are breaking down before we've got the ball out of defence then trying to solve the problem by changing the defence does make sense.

I'm sure they could obtain his mobile number if they really tried.

but why would they? He's not got any relationship with them. Ranieri would have his own people surely.
