The players want to talk to the board. I can imagine the boards response. If Mahrez had not lost form; if Ndidi had played this season as he did last season, if Kasper had not let in a soft goal against West Brom Craig might still have a job.

So what are the options?

1. Keep the current incumbent see what happens and allow time to select a credible manager? If we are pushing top six by January ( the pts difference is a nats pube) then say get us top six at the end of the season and you have the job for two years. This guy has managed before albeit at a lower level the difference is he has experience, unlike Shakey which answers the Giggs scenario IMO.

2. Appoint a manager with the right credentials now Sean Dyche is the obvious choice and no disrespect to Burnley how much further can he take them? Do Burnley have the financial clout to elevate the team to a top six outfit? If we can turn Dyche's head then move heaven and earth to get him and back him financially and more importantly give him complete autonomy over transfers, I think this has prevented other managers from signing.

There is a long way to go two wins you are pushing Europe, two losses your job is on the line the difference between the bottom three to the top ten was not too much last season I think it was 8 pts from 4th bottom to the top half. In response to culling the players do people on here not think the players want stability? Some of the players being slated have been working hard and putting in a shift, Shakey has had Drinkwater sold probably against his wishes and the silva transfer well and truly cocked up, if people on here are seriously suggesting the mess we are in is because of the players acting churlishly need to open their eyes a bit wider and look at the board.

The owners are businessmen not footballers hence they appointed people to make those decisions I would agree perhaps they need to revisit that area, I wonder why Walsh left to go to Everton? We are 8 games in and a long way to go, we can and should take our time to get the right man.

Oh I agree, I find the sense of entitlement quite fascinating. I'd rather we keep Appleton on than give Giggs ago to be honest, at least he's managed at the lower levels and seems to know what he was doing there.
