I always thought Elliot was a lot better than average - just a lack of pace stopped him from being real class.

Walshie will always be a legend.

And Walshie too.

i don't think Elliot was ever Real (Ray-Al) class. Better than McManaman though.

and that would make him big headed ?:102:

No but the ENORMOUS vein on the side of his bonce didn't help. that thing had its own postcode, it was massive.

Where is Walshy these days?

does he do impressions then ? :102:

I hear he does a very effiminate Frank Spencer. Some people believe it is actually Steve Walsh doing Bobby Davro doing Frank Spencer, but there are too many innuendo's to conjour with so i won't go into it.

His Neil Kinnock is shite though.

Is he still in Spain doing the golfing holidays?

I can confirm the big fella is still in Spain......still awaiting the call to help his beloved club from the abyss it currently wallows in.........

Walshie all the way, despite Elliott's 2 goals at Wembley against Tranmere. Not many things will beat Walshie's 2 goals against Derby and his rumble with Wright after the classic 3-3.

I think I'm on my own here, but it's Elliot for me.

Walsh was a decent player in a decade of utter mediocrity. I always thought big Matt was the better player on the ground and as good as Walsh in the air and going forward.

Walsh stuck around and was "Mr. Leicester" - that made him a fans' favourite which sometimes, in my eyes, masked the fact that he couldn't pass the ball to save his life!

Desert fox, I suppose the 40 yards + pass to Muzzy that won us a penalty against Palace doesn't count :102:
Might not of saved his life but saved our bacon in the play off final

:icon_cool Yes, that was superb. I'm not saying Walla wasn't a quality player, but I do think he was a little bit over-rated as he was surrounded by absolute shite. Brian Little described him as "different class", which he was... from Coatsworth, Carey, Willis, etc. The only other player who looked good for us around that time was Mark Draper, who was hailed as a genius at the time. When he left we all realized he was decent enough midfielder playing in a crap team, but no more.

All I'm saying is I think Elliot was a better all round footballer. With the talk about Dion and hoofing it upfield, I think it's ironic that this thread has been brought back. A Steve Walsh size ten into row Z got us out of trouble on many occassions, but it was also used to find the opposing goalkeeper from our own penalty area quite often as well....

Got to agree with Desert Fox on this one, whilst Walshie was and probably still is my idol he stood out from a team of mediocre players where as Matty stood out from a team of quality.

Still love Walshie though he was by far too good for our team but never wanted out, always reminded me a lot of Steve Bull........ Must be the name that does it :102:

Matt had the edge in terms of footballing quality, Walshy ahead in terms of committment.
Both great to watch and both sadly missed.

Spent many hours on the M6 travelling to the games with Walshy's dad (and got free admission).

But have to plump for Matty, after all i named my son after him
Im just sad my son never got to see him play, but at least he never left Leicester (idont count Ipswich!)

Oh, those Walsh/Bull clashes! Always resulted in a red card.

What we'd give to see a bit of passion like that now. Says it all really.... :icon_cry:
