Sounds like that embarrassing, cringe worthy, tripe of a commentator could finally be gone.

Didn't commentate yesterday and not on Monday either, apparently it may be permanent too.

Dagnall took his place. It was never said why he wasn't there, but Leicester have banned RL from asking questions for the past week or so, so many are presuming there's something gone on and he's for the chop. Bloody well hope so.

Sounds like Pearson's had enough of his nonsensical ramblings. To be fair, he had the novelty factor for a while, but he's no journalist. If he wasn't a Z-List celeb, he wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place!

I remember hearing the bellend talking about Max Gradel's pink boots for about 5 minutes last season... BBC Radio Leicester - please, just get in a decent, Leicester-supporting commentator. It can't be that hard!

I listen to the other team's commentary for most matches these days because Stringer is painful to listen to.

It's not a late April Fools joke, don't worry, Jeff. It's just speculation that he's been sacked, but he certainty wasn't commentating tonight and won't be on Monday either and no reason why he isn't has been given, despite the fact he was advertised to commentate tonight. So something has definitely gone on.

The worst part for me is not just his self-obsessed ramblings which are painful to listen to, but it's that he thinks he's funny when he really, really isn't and he goes and drags awful jokes on for about 10 minutes and explains them 4 times over. It's just horrible.

I just want someone to tell me what's going on in a football match, is it too much to ask?

I know its dangerous to go against popular consensus on this board but i really don’t think all the stick Stringer gets on here is warranted. I thought he was much better than the last bloke (Barber?).

He comes out with lots of crap but he was entertaining enough and has a genuine love for City.

It’s hardly a job football commentators will be queuing up for to replace him.

I would rather have someone who's a good commentator so I can tell what's going on in the match. I usually listen to the opposition commentary these days and most of them give me a better idea of what's going on, even if they're biased towards the other team.

Agreed. Listening to that 606 commentary vs. Donny earlier this season was a fresh of breath air. Told you what was going on, how the team were playing, their style, stand-out players etc. Whereas Stringer goes on about a hat he bought in a service station on the way up.

Maybe it's an age thing, I don't find him entertaining at all. A lot of his comments that I know some people have found funny I just find to be the kind of juvenile humour I grew out of 25+ years ago. But perhaps that's because I'm just a boring old bastard.

I have never listened to his commentary and felt that i did not know what was happening in the game. Maybe he is not up to the standard of national radio 5 commentators and i listen to alot of radio 5 at work, but that was quite appealing to me. something a bit different.

Me too, the ramblings of the idiot made me so annoyed I lost track of what was happening in the game. Generally follow on line now, may go back to RL if they replace him with someone who commentates on the football; it's what they get paid for after all!!

The problem with radio commentary is that if you stop talking for a minute people think their radio is knackered or that the station has gone off air.

Even if there is nothing happening in the game the commentators have to keep talking. Also just saying "Oakley to Wellens, Wellens to King" etc would soon get tedious.

I'm not saying Stringer is brilliant but what do you expect at local radio?

Stringer was certainly in attendance yesterday, but was in the away end with female company. He waved at us. Sidekick was very curious as to why he wasn't taking his normal position. Obviously he didn't commentate, now we just need to know why

We've had some decent commentators at Radio Leicester over the years, until the last few. Most of the good ones have ended up on national radio.

We've been talking about it all season whether we've been winning or not.
