Only one out of 30 people think we'll go down? And that wasn't me either.

This will please some. I've just backed us to go down (£30 at 14/1). This means that if the worst were to happen, my season ticket next season will be free. It feels quite liberating and really rather sensible. I recommend it.

Odds of 14/1 on relegation seem absurdly generous though. After all, we've had a relegation battle in 4 out of our last 5 seasons in the Premier League (surviving 2 and failing 2). And we have a shambles of a manager in charge this year.

I do think we'll stay up but taking out insurance makes sense.

Can't see anyone being worse than the 3 promoted sides. All just there to bank some PL money and goodbye

At the start of the season I always check to see if there are three teams worse than us. I think there is.

Says everyone, every season.

Says everyone, every season.

I think this years are particularly shit. Newcastle's squad are worse than when they got relegated and the other 2 haven't really improved this summer. Previous seasons there's always been at least one team you can expect to be better than Sunderland etc. I can't see one this year.

There are at least 7-10 teams worse than us in terms of players:

Bournemouth
Newcastle
Brighton
Huddersfield
Stoke
West Ham
Swansea
West Brom
Palace
Watford
Burnley

I think Spurs bubble has burst and they will be mid table.

The building up of Everton is laughable, they are only slightly better off than last season -if at all.

Everton are spending like drinken sailors. If they are going to go somewhere they need to gel fast

BN are you a subversive?

BN are you a subversive?

Sometimes, but not in this instance. I think our 'real' odds of going down should be around 4/1 so 14/1 is ridiculous and any rational person with some winnings from his bet on Iheanacho signing really ought to reinvest.

On a general point, betting against your own team makes far more sense intellectually than betting on them. You're effectively laying off your disappointment and we all know that disappointment is a big part of being a City fan. It could therefore be argued that it is the antithesis of being subversive.
