Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded winter 2018/19 rumours thread.

BM, don't get me wrong. I was reacting to the generally very negative views being expressed on this forum, not your point in particular. I don't comment a lot, but read most things posted and I just sense that many need to get a bit more real about who we are and where we are. You're right, Huddersfield and Newcastle were pathetic (although Newcastle looked pretty good against Utd.) and I've just spent the weekend with some die-hard Burnley fans, telling them that if they don't batter Huddersfield they need to have a word with themselves (oops!)!
But we can only beat the teams we play, which we did, and despite the Everton result, I still think we'll have a better season than last.

What makes you think we’ll have a better season this season compared to last?

    Man Utd away:

    This season - lost
    Last season - lost

    Wolves home:

    This season - won
Last season - lets say draw (we drew against all three relegated clubs at home last season - shocking really)

    Southampton away:

    This season - won
    Last season - won

    Liverpool home:

    This season - lost
    Last season - lost

    Bournemouth away:

    This season - lost
    Last season - drew

    Huddersfield home:

    This season - won
    Last season - won

    Newcastle away:

    This season - won
    Last season - won

    Everton home:

    This season - lost
    Last season - won

    Total this season: 12 points
    Total last season: 14 points

    Hardly a sign of progression.

My concern is we are never too far away from a bad run that could sink us back to where we’ve been. We can have all the training ground facilities and ground expansions planned, but it might be an anchor wrapped round our leg if we are playing in the Championship. West Brom we’re pushing for Europe a few seasons ago.

I give thanks to the miracle season and our fantastic owners. I regret how our money has been spent on recruitment. I hope the Leicester job hasn’t become a poisoned chalice.

Apart from THAT season, the odd false dawn like 2000-2001, and the relegation years, 'twas ever thus.

What about the ‘Big Spending Leicester City’ years when we nearly had Victoria Beckham doing her Saturday morning shopping in the Highcross?

I work staging live concerts, so if a 6000 seater arena is true that would be a huge success for the local economy and to bring better quality entertainment to Leicester.

We didn't have the highcross then, otherwise it would have gone through for sure.

I can’t remember who it was, maybe Iborra or Silva but I got a very excited phone call from a friend who had been following them and their very attractive spouse in and out of Lewis’s for his entire lunch break.

We are also not to far away from going on a good run these internationals are a pain in the arse and does more damage to clubs than good IMO, I am still optimistic for the season, I am concerned with our CD selection and our weakness at RB but I am sure it will be resolved. would like to see shinji start with Vardy he links well with him and adds more urgency to our game but hey ho.

Shinji clearly needs to leave the club, especially under Puel's stewardship.

    Especially (rolls his eyes emoji)

Shinji was great for us in that absolutely unbelievably fantastic year, however, like for others we thank him and move on.
