After the topic of "Escape to Victory", in your opinion, what is the best football movie ever?
purely belter! quality litle film
Thats a golf film Malf, you silly sod! It is brilliant though.
Don't think there's ever been even a half-decent footie film
I agree, they just don't work. grimble, when sat comes, bassett, they are all just watchable, but never really any good. ID almost gets there but is it a football film?
Fever Pitch is a bad film, it just shades into romance aswell. They are making a film called Goal! Heres its details http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0380389/ A decent footie film apparently is The Miracle Of Bern http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0326429/ Its German however The Americans have also made one about them beating us in the 1950 World Cup. http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0354595/ If I had the money I would make a docu about a Sunday morning footie team. I did hear City were going to allow Louis Theroux into the club in one of Mace's masterplans. However we went on that horrible losing streak.
Fever pitch is a good book but it wasn't a good film indeed all Nick Hornbys books are worth reading IMO but the films that have been made out of them have all been poor.
High Fidelity is ok IMO and if you sit through all of About a Boy with the girlfriend then it's usually worth it, wink wink, nudge nudge.
I know its technically not about football but I thought Football Factory was a good film!
