Speculation Will Mahrez stay for next season?

Vardy has committed himself for another 3 years.

Mahrez is also a sensational player who will be attractive to big clubs not just here but in Spain, Italy, Germany and France.

This is not a Cambiasso situation. Mahrez could become a Messi like player and be world class for many years to come.

I would like to think the team, the manager and the owners would do absolutely everything possible to persuade Mahrez to stay. £200,000/week, a lifetime supply of Walkers crisps. Whatever it takes.

With this team we are capable of winning silverware and playing in Europe. Not only Mahrez but I'd hope we are an attractive proposition for other players to join up!

I believe he signed a new contract in the close season, so in terms of his contract running out soon there's no problem. However, money-wise we are not going to pay as much as so called bigger teams ( and rightly so ), so if he wants to go, and the fee is big enough, he will go. That's the way of the world.

I think it's a good question, no doubt very very silly money will be thrown at the club for his signature. However it's HIS dream that will decide the outcome. If not next season ( we could in the Champions League), then certainly the one after that. If he continues his current form then it's Barcelona or Real Madrid for me not an English club, so enjoy him while we can.

Saw some figures about the rise of his value on the telly. From £400,000 to £33million. What truth I don't know but possibly our best investment ever? Even better than Vardy?

Mahrez seems quite level-headed, and may well think that another season as the star of a team that might be champions, and will surely be in the Champions League (yikes!), is likely to make him a still hotter property the following summer. For no real reason (apart from their world reputation), I suspect he'd like to ultimately play for Barcelona, and may see maintaining his form with us as a better step towards that than joining someone else.

I can't see us getting more than one year, though. He's just too good! I watch him and think that if he played for someone else, I'd be admiring him like I did Zola, Le Tissier or Kinkladze. And he plays for us!

Most important thing is he's staying this season. If any of our Stars had gone in January that could've seen our best chance gone. For now we can all dream.

Who cares? He's here now and playing ****ing wonderfully again.

I think he'd only go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester City. I say Man City because if history tells us anything, it's that Guardiola will dominate the PL like he has other leagues - I'm not saying this is definitely happening - but that it's probable given his record.

And if he makes history at Man City . . . who wouldn't want to be part of that!? If Bale was worth £85m, that makes Mahrez worth at least £50m by now.

I think he'll leave in the summer. I would.
We've had a great season, and given him a great platform, but a bigger team will come in for him and we can't compete.

Every team is a selling club, except Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Agreed with the above. Also if we did get 50mill plus who knows how we might invest that in the playing squad as possible league champions.

That said I'd much prefer he stayed.

If reports are to be believed, Man Utd seem to think Barca are a selling club, what with Neymar and all

He will stay, why would he leave when he could finish this miracle in the right way, Champions League.

Sod's law, the year we qualify, the finals in Cardiff

If he's well advised, he'll stay next year if we're in the Champions League. He's still learning and another year with us would serve him well.

After that, he quite rightly should be able to take his pick where he wants to play.
