Clarify or stipulate?
You make it sound as though I'm not allowed to use those words! Or that I have to run it past you first! There's no restriction on how I can address the topic. I mean, I've even been encouraged to swear!
There's been a range of opinions expressed and 'downing tools' was...
This is an interesting narrative and is perhaps more projection than reality.
I don't think I could respect any footballer who downs tools because he thinks his team mates are not worthy of him, but I honestly don't suspect that of Youri. I get that he's maybe moved on (in his head) and that...
That's my thought when people say we should have gotten rid last summer. I think if we'd have had a decent offer, we would have. I just don't recall there being serious interest.
I remember Maguire and Chilwell being different. We knew the clubs involved, their interest and it was only a matter...
I'm really not sure who I'd select at the back. I thought the Amartey/Ndidi combo did ok against Liverpool. They were at least there - I certainly wouldn't say solid but consistent at least. I like Soyuncu, I think on his day he is a better defender but he can lose it, get out of position and...
I've switched, and tipped the balance, from undecided to sack. There are now more 'out' than 'in'.
I fear I tend to give too much of a chance to managers and am unable to read the writing on the wall. On reflection, I see the infection that has infected the squad; a once confident and united...
That smug little grin doesn't help, it's true, but then I have to remind myself that people can't always help what they look like; he might not be being smug at all.
I dunno. I just feel like we've served a purpose for him now. I hope I'm wrong and we see something like professionalism on...
Is this how transfer business is normally conducted? It feels a bit, I dunno, something. I'm going off him for what might be totally normal (but usually behind the scenes) manoeuvring.
Or is it a reminder that we are a stepping stone, and that's a bit hard to take?
Well, maybe - in fairness - we tried. If he says 'no' then we're into gambling territory - what's another season worth? etc. I dunno. We paid a reported £40M for him and we might not recoup that... but the club may still feel it was money well spent. Let's just hope he doesn't prat about until...
I shall definitely be watching this on Sunday, not so sure about the men's game.
I reckon we stand a decent chance against WHam Women. Our form of late has been good and we'll be confident. WHam are not amongst the elite WSL teams and whilst a step up from us perhaps, are the calibre of team we...
As experiments go, this will be, um, interesting.
I mean, christ, I know I'm a cynical, miserable ****er at the best of times, and there are times I dearly want to be proven wrong, but I really can't see this ending well.
I'm not sure the attitude of Cags nor Youri was markedly worse than others on the pitch, nor worse than it has been previously! I guess BR just reached breaking point with them two on Sunday, and they have (in some sense) carried the can for it because they're expected to know better.
With...
How effective a statement is it should we (when we) get dicked and the players are back in the following game? Arguably, it backfires as a statement. A player could actually see it is validation.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be subject to something, but dropping them for a game, just to...
That was my thought, a punishment. Thing is, who is he punishing really? They might have been very naughty boys but they're still better than the options - particularly at CB. Dropping them (and Cags particularly) doesn't make a great deal of sense to me - other than to make a statement.
If...
However true it is (and, of course, it's there) I don't think it's entirely helpful to be saying that to the rest of the world. It smacks of him trying to blame, to shift responsibility. I feel he really should have left it at...
That is such a cool graphical comparison of teams. From Burnley to Man City, it shows the teams tactics and even ethos maybe. You can even see that Barnes doesn't track back!
You learn something every day.I had no idea of his political affiliation (not that it bothers me in truth) nor of his upbringing. The best I could come up with was 'he's a twat'
I really didn't give a toss about Everton before Lampard joined, now I find myself wanting them to get dicked. I have no idea why I dislike him. Even in his playing days.
How much time do the players spend there? I assumed the bedrooms were only for pre-match stays, to assemble the team prior to travel etc, I didn't think they'd be used often.
I assumed players turned up, trained and then went home - physio and treatments aside. Or is the place like a day job?
I can understand the club's desire to monitor and, to some extent, control the players, They have invested a lot of money in them so they'll want to be getting the best out of them. For the players though.... yes, big brother-ish. I am not a number!
Thanks for taking the time to write that up...
It's something that's crossed my mind too, and not simply (not even) because of the club's wavering successes. In fact, more to do with KP than the club.
