It does make you wonder what he is seeing. The wingers are so isolated when they get the ball and there is often just Vardy/Daka in the middle. We also just need to move the ball quicker. It’s painful.
Went to the game last night as it’s local to me. The thing that really frustrated me in the 2nd half was the complete lack of movement when we had the ball at the back. This resulted in pointless passing between Coady/Faes and Winks which more often than not resulted in a loss of possession or...
This is just a function of how much better we are than the rest in this league. EM only wants us to attack when the opportunity to do damage arises. By keeping the ball under Vesty’s foot for 20 mins it means that it is 20 mins when the opposition can’t score.
Agree with the bit about not being a team. It reminded me of the old footy computer games where the player in possession lights up and does something while all the others just stand there until they get the ball and then they light up and do something…….except they didn’t do much!
A loss would be damaging psychologically. A draw however, isn’t a bad result as things are then in our hands. The goal difference could be the deciding factor.
Agree. This is frustrating/annoying in equal measure as this group does have the ability to cause problems if they play with more freedom/attacking intent. Confidence is also a big factor.
It’s exactly the same approach as the Newcastle game.
Set up not to concede but provide little threat which invites pressure and chances against us. Hopefully get to half-time without conceding. Then when we go a goal down change it and play with more ambition once it is probably too late...
Agree with this second bit. I went along tonight as I am local to Newcastle. On 77 mins there was a stoppage in play and Perez was receiving treatment right by our technical area. Another player (Barnes I think) was standing next to Perez. I watched Rodgers and he basically stood with his...
Good post BN. I’m just not sure what Top, Whelan, Rudkin etc can do about performances on the pitch. They have backed BR with transfers but we are one dimensional and mentally frail. This is down to BR and has been brewing for a year now. There is quality in the squad but they need...
