Am I right in saying we have a good chance of a UEFA Cup spot?

2 FA Cup wins should do it?

With Chelsea & Liverpool (both in the league cup) likely to gain a European spot through the Premier League it would mean (like this season) the F.A. Cup runners up will play in the UEFA Cup.

Am I right? because that is pretty damn good stuff! Better not get too excited yet because there is still a chance of us getting the cream of the Premier League in the next round, but what a first season that would make it for Levein.

Europe = ££££££££££££££££££££££££ "Comeon Levein!"

Don't get too carried away eh :D
Man Utd v LCFC drawn out tomorrow :-(

Not necessarily. Millwall didn't earn much from Europe this season, you'll only earn a lot if you get drawn against a top team, or get into the later stages of the competition.

But too much emphasis is put on the money side of things. Getting into the quarter finals of the FA cup is a football achievement, we should be looking forward to events on the pitch. The money is just a nice bonus.

Webbie will correct me if I am wrong, :wink: ;-) :mrgreen: but I am under the impression that you need to be in the top division from next season to take a place in a European Competition. :-? :-?

Really?

That's not something I've heard. I'll have a look at the UEFA website to see if there's anything about it there.

That is utter shite if its true!! what a horrible idea even though i hate millwall i wanted them to do well in europe just for the achievement of getting there.

i delighted in the idea of world football meeting with millwall vs galatasary, not! think out of general principal they shouldnt of been allowed in, but anyother fizzy league team fair enough

The top two sides in the league qualify automatically for the UEFA Champions League. The teams that finish third and fourth qualify for the final qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The fifth-placed team qualifies for the UEFA Cup, as do the FA Cup winners and the Carling Cup winners. If a club already in Europe wins the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup place goes to the runners-up. If the runners-up are also already in Europe, the place will go to the next highest-placed league team. If the winners of the Carling Cup are already in Europe the UEFA Cup place goes to the next highest-placed league team.

Nothing about which league you are in if you win the FA Cup. :-? :-? :wink: ;-)
