A completely trivial question

Around five years ago there was a series of TV commercials for a car. In them a reasonably well known American actor played a lawyer trying to convince a jury that it was a completely new concept in cars.

I have been racking my brain to try and remember the name of the actor and the make of car. Can anyone else remember?
