I found a leaflet for A.L.F. (Ambitious Leicester Fans) when I was clearing some stuff up on my day off yesterday.Anyone remember this organisation?

On the front there is a fox pointing outwards with the folowing:-

WE NEED YOU
to help build a better future for Leicester City Football Club

Reading it except for references of David Pleat and getting relegated to the
3rd Division it could almost have been written now.

Well is must have been written 15 years ago this month as it mentions we were knocked out of the FA Cup 3 weeks prior which was a record 6th successive season at the 3rd round stage.

It mentions that it is City's worst league record for 40 years!!

So we are now in the 2nd worst for 55 years!!!! IF THIS CONTINUES!!!!

Anyone remember another pressure group called Blue Tuesday?

They handed out leaflets around Little's time I think. Can't remember any of the content apart from the strange punctuation and grammar. Mine is bad at times but this was a typesetters nightmare.

I remember both groups...

...was it worse in those days...

...were people more "passionate" in their protests and therefore organised themselves more, produced literature etc or is it because we're now in the era of the message board and forum we let off steam that way instead??:102

I think the feeling was different back then, I think it was more to do with the money side of things. Other clubs seemed to be spending cash whilst our transfer record had almost stood still since the signing of Steve Moran £350,000? I felt ripped off.

The problem is now that I don't know who to direct my frustrations about LCFC massively underachieving again. This new board had loads of good will after they 'rescued' the club and TD seems to be a decent bloke aside from his £200,000 payout, but where do you draw the line?

The board have chosen CL to take us on their youth path but so far it's been a disaster. At the moment the atmosphere around the club seems to be too nice for us to be successful, the answering fans emails is a show of weakness to me. They need to toughen up, an appeal to the fans for tomorrow from one of the invisible men on the board would have been a start.

Martin George loved central sports!

I totally agree.

Becuse of the nature of the board i.e. a " democratic" set up with no individual with "real" power we just appear to be tip-toeing very politely into oblivion!!!

Think you said what I was trying to say in about a eighth of the words!

TD seems to be the one who is constantly picked out purely because we don't know who the others are, but Tim doesn't strike me as the sort of bloke who would be cracking someone over the head with a bar stool in a pub brawl.:071:

We;re just lacking that passion all through the club - board, management, players...

oh for the days of MON taking on Pierrepoint and his bunch of cronies.........:038:

Yes - there was a group of quite powerful people who fronted the rescue of the club, but they stepped aside for various reasons , and allowed the running of the club to fall into the hands of nonenities - with this alien to soccer culture for having no individual (s) with any power.

It isn't working and has led to a paralysis in decision making allowing a manager who must be one of the worst in the club's history to stumble on putting at risk the club's footballing status.

Unfortunately, I can't see any solution. at the moment ....but I hope it doesn't need a further major crisis to get it sorted.
