sky sports Southampton's Darren Kenton will make his return from injury on Tuesday evening when he plays in the Saints reserve side against Portsmouth at St Mary's.
The 25-year-old, signed from Norwich City in May 2003, has endured a nightmare six months since joining the Hampshire side, picking up a succession of injuries to his thighs and calves that have forced him to delay making his first team debut.
"This is the worst spell I have ever had with injury," Kenton said.
Fit again, the defender is eager to show his Southampton colleagues and manager Gordon Strachan what he is capable of by claiming his place as a first team regular.
"Some of the lads here have been calling me 'sick note' but now I want to prove them wrong," he said.
