Best Four-gotten
The Academy under 18s had a torrid time on Saturday morning, going down 4-0 at home to Bristol City.
City were rocked early on when Bristol took the lead in only the second minute, poking home a corner from two yards out.
And the visitors made it 2-0 in the 20th minute. A low cross fired along the six yard box was spilled by goalkeeper Carl Pentney and presented the opportunity for another short range tap-in.
After Louis Dodds had made a couple of chances to get the Foxes back into the game, it was Max Gradel who had the best opening with five minutes left of the first half. He bore down on the Bristol goal, one-on-one with the 'keeper, and only a fine save denied City their lifeline.
Bristol's third on the stroke of halftime was again gifted to them. A goal-kick clearance from Pentney was knocked back into the Leicester half, leaving an unmarked opposition forward all the time and space he needed to make it 3-0 at the break.
Leicester came out fired up for the second half, with strikers Ashley Chambers and Eric Odiambo taking the field as they attempted to fight their way back into the contest. They began in positive fashion but were soon deflated when, within a minute of the restart, Bristol hit on the counter to take a four goal lead.
The young Foxes did not give up and spent the majority of the rest of the match on the attack yet were missing that killer final ball to open up the defence.
Gradel had a crack from 20 yards to bag a consolation effort as the final whistle approached, but the goalkeeper saved well and managed to recover the loose ball before a lurking Odihambo could capitalise.
