Academy Fall To Blues
Leicester City's under 18 side went down 3-1 at the hands of Birmingham City on Saturday.
The Foxes went into the game looking to bounce back from last weekend's 3-2 reverse at Bristol City
But a young City side would come unstuck at the Wasthills Training complex against their more experienced opponents.
Academy director Jon Rudkin said: "We started off with three schoolboys in the line up who had earned the opportunity to play at the higher level. There was a significant difference between the two sides, in both their age and physical size.
"We started off reasonably well, but we conceded a goal from a cross in the first 20 minutes.
"We then got back into the game through a set piece which was converted by Ricky Muggleton (pictured), and more than held our own.
"But Birmingham scored a second as half-time approached, and although we had a number of half chances in the second half we were unable to find an equaliser."
City: Pentney, Cox, Lycett, Magunda, Mattock (Beswick), Franklin, Tejan-Sie (Graham), Wykes, King, Chambers (McKay), Muggleton.
