I was by the corner flag and yes I got very wet!

maybe they wanted to get wet and enjoyed it :icon_wink

It wasn't THAT bad, was far worse at Pompey and Man City.

The worst soaking I got was at Pompey in 93 for the first leg of the play-offs, (for 10 points can anyone name the loan player who scored the only goal), I also remember the lovely farewell from the home fans as we left the ground that night.

We drew 2-2 :102:

Didn't Paul Kerr score against them earleir in the season?

I got slightly drenched in the stand behind the goal. just got home now and rinsed my jeans out.

That's what I was just thinking.......

Though its rained every time I've been Pompey!

I once stood at Oldham where it pissed it down all game. It was open, cold, very wet and windy. The game ended 1-1 but i couldnt have cared if we had lost 10-0 it was that miserable.

And Notts County.

Zenith Data Cup 1992?

My sister bought me a ticket to go to that, but as I was only 6 my mum didn't let me go as it was a school night.

Never forgiven her for that.:icon_lol:
Think it was Paul Fitzpatrick and Tommy Wright who scored was it not?

Thanks pds, you're absolutely right - the soaking was in the league (night game) not the play offs.

Didn't any of you think to take any umbrella?

Yea thats a good idea, it wouldnt block the persons view behind you would it.

It didnt even rain that much, was a good night out regardless of the performance.

Does anyone else remember a game at the old Elm park, Reading where it peed down all afternoon. A local shopkeeper was selling black bin bags at about 20p each for us to wear on the open terrace!

You weren't unlucky.
I was standing near the half way line, there was plenty of space for more people from the roofless areas, if you couldn't be bothered to walk round to the bit with a roof it's your own fault, nothing to do with luck.

They closed the gate so no-one else could go through.

Probably not the same game but remember Neil Lennon's debut at Elm Park and Reading's goalkeeper was wearing a wig.

The first leg was played at the city ground with Joachim scoring in the last few minutes. 2nd leg was 2-2 as already mentioned :)
