............ than learn from Norn Iron's performance last night. It's all about pride. You should be proud to pull on a shirt.!!!!!!

If you're not proud of the shirt you wear then you shouldn't be playing!

I watched Norn Iron against Wales cause the England game was boring and i have adopted the 'Norn Iron' as my second team due to their comedy accent and the NI fans just singing 'NORN IRON' all the time..........

.........or if you're lennon

You're not good enough anymore!

Or are not prepared to put up with bigotry :?

Could you please clarify that comment for me.

I am not and have never been a bigot. I am however a Northern Ireland fan and you seem to associate the two as the same.

Can I therefore assume by your logic that if you are an England fan does that mean you should be classified as a thug or a racist.

There are a lot of good and balanced people that follow the Northern Ireland team (i.e. the team of their country) and to imply that they are anything else is criminal.

Your comments would be appreciated!

I was not assuming that you were in anyway a bigot. However it is a well known fact that a certain section of the N. Ireland fans took exception to Lennon's faith and the fact that he plays for Celtic. I appreciate that this was a minority, in the same way that a minority of english fans are also racist thugs. All i was saying is that Lennon is on record as saying the reason he retired from playing for N Ireland was the abuse that he and his family got from certain sections of the crowd. I can only assume that the majority of N. Ireland fans (including your good self) were appalled by this. If i have offended you then i apologise.

"I, I, I feel love comin' on...."

I was appalled by this bluefox. If you read my comment earlier however I suggested that Lennon was not good enough. Whether that was as a result of mindless individuals or the fact that he was not as committed is a matter for his conscience and given the strides made by the IFA and the loyal (please note small l) support to irradicate this, this matter should now be marked as historical.

Neil as good as he was for Leicester and can be for Celtic, although I must profess that I do not watch many of the SPL games, was not a particularly good player for Northern Ireland.

Infact Lennon now has the suffix 6 attached to his name in my memory.

I would both as a Norn Iron supporter and a Leicester supporter much rather have seen.

Neil Lennon - 8.

I get the impression that you're a pretty fair minded Prod, Billy Boy. I take it that you've been over here for a few years though and have had time to chill out a bit (judging by your attention to grammar, punctuation spelling etc - you're unlikely to be under 35!)?

Fitz makes a pretty valid point about Lennon. That sorry business was a big eye opener for a lot of football fans. It sent out a very bad message about Northern Ireland - it doesn't matter what you do, if you're a Catholic we will still crap on you!

Lennon (and his family) got in the neck for playing for his country from both sides. Many people don't appreciate how much grief Catholics get from the IRA if they decide to represent Northern Ireland at anything.

On a lighter note, Lennon is past his prime but he's still a class above all the rags, tags and bobtails in that outfit of yours!

Political correctness to the maximum extreme AGAIN.

All he stated was the reason why Neil Lennon quit playing for his country, it was even a bloody opinion, its like saying James was dropped because of his howler and then saying thats a racist comment cause James is Black....

Get a grip Twat.

Fox in the Box:

1. I take it that your accusation of extreme political correctness is targeted at me. For your information I am not a liberal. My politics are right of centre.

2. I further take it that the 'he' you are referring to is 'Billy Boy.' You wrote that all Billy Boy was doing was stating why Lennon quit playing for his country. Having read all of Billy Boy's posts on this thread twice I cannot find any such 'reason.'

3. Billy Boy quips that Lennon is not good enough for Northern Ireland and has never performed well for his country. Fair comment. But Billy Boy is not advancing this idea as the reason why Lennon quite playing for NI. Are you suggesting that Lennon thought this about himself and therefore decided to retire from international football?

4. Your syllogism about David James is therefore inaccurately applied (I did not accuse BB and NI fans of sectarianism because of NL's poor performances).

The undoubted truth is, Fox in the Box, that Neil Lennon quit Northern Ireland because of muderous threats to his family - no one here has suggested otherwise. When sectarianism is a matter of fact it is not a matter of political correctness, let alone political correctness taken to extremes.

The undoubted truth also, Fox in the Box, is that you are both ignorant and illogical. You are completely incoherent and clearly semi educated in what passes for an education system these days.

Now, take that, TWAT!

Fair enough, but did you vote on what he should have for his tea ?

For the sake of clarity.

1) I am not a racist or a bigot
2) I was not even impling that BB is a racist or bigot
3) I was just taking exception with the implied line in the early part of this thread that Lennon was not proud to wear the N. Ireland shirt or good enough. At the time of his retirement he was both proud to be playing for his country and good enough IMO

Hope that is clear :!: :!:

Point taken bluefox. 8)

In my opinion though he isn't good enough!
:)

Hand on heart BB, if Mr Lennon was captain let's say of er...Glasgow Rangers and he was of the Buddhist persuasion do you not think your opinion of him would be a tad more favourable?
