I only ask because I have no problem with meggo being in charge and I don’t think Collins John is someone to get excited about signing.

I like what meggo is doing with the team, ok, ok it isn’t inspiring football but it is what we badly needed. We needed someone to come in and build us up from the back. We needed to stop shipping goals at silly times in games (remember the “we would be in the champions league if it wasn’t for the last 10 minutes” season?). Ive said it before and Ill say it again, Meggo is working to set up a good backbone to the team both in the way they perform and by having quality players forming the spine of the formation. i.e. Fulop, Kisnorbo, Clemence, DJ. Something I remember a certain MON did in the early days before putting together one of our best ever teams.

And yesI do mean DJ, whatever anyone else thinks IMO he is the most naturally gifted footballer we have at the club. He hasn’t been given half a chance since signing and we are certainly not currently playing the type off football to suit him, but given time and enough first team starts with decent service then I reckon he can do the business. We seem to have the defensive side of things set up IMO and therefore its time to work on the midfield.

So therefore my criticism today comes with the signing of CJ. Meggo complains of a squad being much of a muchness and a lack of midfielders but then goes and signs another striker that has struggled with goals and needs the kind of service our current midfield is not capable of giving. A quality attacking midfielder to partner Clemo is what is needed. Ala muzzy and lennon in the old days. These showed that even with relatively poor wide players a quality centre mid can overcome this.

I know people will pick this apart and slag me off but they are just my current opinions.

I agree with most what you say, though I am still yet to be convinced on DJ. I think Weso and Clemence will form a very good midfield partnership, and would be suprised if they didn't start together tonight

Tbh I hadn’t fully considered weso. At the minute, due to his past injuries, I think his career could still go either way. He could turn into the attacking midfielder we need and if so then great but also these constant injury concerns could really damage him both physically and mentally.

I foresee a monumental victory tonight, fast free flowing football the likes we’ve never seen. Collins John looks inspirational with some wonderful footwork and trickery. Leicester look like they’ve really turned the corner! All the fans leave the stadium extremely satisfied until tomorrow morning when……..

MEGSON JOINS BOLTON.

PETER REID FAVOURITE FOR LEICESTER JOB.

Can I have some of what you're smoking?

Definitely odd, but that does not stop you talking sense from time to time.

I agree broadly with what you say. However we are told that they have been chasing a couple of players from prem teams, so if the other one they are after is someone who can provide solid and consistent service from midfield then CJ could be a good choice. And we might begin to see something from DJ as well.

Almost totally agree with you. Spot on re GM and DJ.

We'll get a midfielder in when it's possible to get someone in who is available, wants to come and is better than what we've got. Not easy to tick all those boxes.

In the meantime, we add to the squad with players who are better than those already here in any position as far as I'm concerned. I think it's likely that John is better than Cort/De Vries. If he is, we've done a good thing bringing him in.

I agree with you on the midfielder, if weso is not the answer then it is going to have to be a very shrewd buy to get what we need for the money we have.

I also agree that John is probably better than cort/Hammond/deep freeze but Im not sure he is really that much better, nut time will tell, I see him as a player with his confidence knocked back over the last 18 months and Im not sure coming here will help him.

I share that concern - he has reacted badly confidence-wise in the past when the crowd has started to get on his back. Just hope he can get off to a flyer.
