were not going to sign one player i would class as "inspiring" this summer-every signing we've made so far in my opinion could have been purchased if we just had a standard board and no debt-i thought at least one or two would have been brought in but the longer this goes on the more i doubt that a saganowski or a hendrie will be signed. Maybe i'm delusional for thinking this club could sign a player of the standards of those above considering the position we have found ourself in as of late, but i'm convinced we can do better then the current signings. I know that i shouldn't judge half of these players before they've even kicked a ball for us-but in my opinion at the present moment i can't see us making any inroads towards the top half of the league-i'm convinced this season will be much better then the last few (it can't get much worse) but i don't think we'll be seeing as big an improvement as many hope until we sign some players who have proven quality.

maybe i'm too pesimistic-look at watford two years ago!

and Bradford before that, and Watford before that. no you're not alone in thinking we haven't made any signings that we can be very excited by, but at least for the first time in many years i am looking forward to the season for reasons other than just catching up with people i haven't seen since may. i think our team may just show some effort which has been lacking and push into the top half, christ i'd take the same sort of season as last but with a little heart from our players

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Sorry, hasn't this been discussed about 50 times already?

Nobody knows anything much about Nielsen, Hellings or Sappleton, no one knows how Cort will turn out, N'Gotty, Kishishev and Chambers are generally seen as good signings.... I don't really see what the problem is.

And Saga, Hendrie, Kaebi, Morfaw etc have been offered contracts and would probably be seen as "inspiring" wouldn't they?

At the end of the day, without Milan we wouldn't be getting any of these players, or anyone else probably without making sacrifices (Hume or Kisnorbo out for a few crappy frees). And there's still a long way until the season starts anyway, and we're building a whole squad. It's much too early for loan deals to be done, and I think there will be a couple of them, as well as bigger/better players who will have more offers on the table (Hendrie et al) so obviously their signings will take a bit longer to complete

No, you're not alone. Every fan of every other Championship club agrees with you. Nobody has made an "inspiring" signing yet.

Chill yer beans!

not in a thread of its own as far as i'm aware. And you can't honestly claim that carl cort is a more inspiring signing then saganowski?

exactly

IMO We have offered deals to about 10 'inspired' players. We're are waiting on them and the only thing attractive about us is the cash on offer.

So they have been the steady players.

this is going to go round in circles

somebody needs to point out that MA is an unkown quantity but then so was MON, oh fcuk it ill do it myself....

No DD, you're not alone, butthere's time yet. I don't know what other Championship clubs have made, what their fanswould regards as, inspiring signings, but there's time yet.

Softly Softly Catchee Monkey.

I think you lot could discuss the price of nothing and how it affects the value of nothing in the rest of the world, specifically in Nothingville. How does it compare on the New York Stock Exchange especially now it's been taken over by that multinational corporation, Random Bollox inc.

Nothing really does appear to be a commodity in great demand, I guess that's why you lot discuss it so much

The comment that the old board and manager could have signed our new players is possibly true - except that I think the new players could be very much better than the players they replace and the old board and manager simply did not sign them, either because they could not be bothered to or did not have the football knowledge to recognise their value to us.

Folks can spend their entire lives talking about the ins and outs of bugger all and regard it as time well spent. I suppose that if it keeps them happy, then that time, has indeed, been well spent. How much value an onlooker would attach to it, however, is an entirely different matter.

Whatever the quality of the signings its important the players that represent Leicester city on the opening day of the season bares little resemblance to the unfit, lazy, unmotivated and truly uninspiring bunch that blagged its way through most of last season.

you'll never hear me talking random bollox. Thoughtful and provocative are how my comments are often described :icon_lol:
