I agree. Or at the very least they should play all their games in midweek. I like the actual WCs and Euros finals, but my god, international qualifiers are the most tedious games in football. They are even more boring than friendlies, at least in friendlies you get to see a few fringe players you wouldn't ordinarily see play.

Annoying for us if he is out for a few games especially as his country is chasing a lost cause. I suppose the other side of the argument is that it broadens players experience and development being away with an international squad and playing at a higher level.

I know what you mean but without the qualifiers there would be no WC/Euros. To be honest i have lost interest in the senior international side and the Rooney incident on Friday has just added to it. I would much rather watch the U21's, young, aspiring players still with something to prove at club and international level. As at club level their indidividual development adds another interesting dimension which the already wealthy, 'successful' players doesn't.
