Reports north of the border continue to link Boston striker Andy Kirk with a move to Leicester City.

The lively hit-man has hit 11 goals this term and has reportedly caught the attention of new Foxes chief Craig Levein.

Kirk played under Levein at Hearts, before his move to York Street, and is now thought to be ready for a crack at Championship football.

The Boston favourite has already received international recognition this season, winning four caps for a new-look Northern Ireland under Lawrie Sanchez's tenure.

Levein is keen to bolster his strikeforce as The Foxes have struggled to mount the promotion push anticipated at the start of the campaign.

Great...who is he.

I say we make him captain for comedy value...yep, Captain Kirk

Taxi!

He scored loads for hearts and is currently just hitting form for Boston in League 2 after a shaky start. On his day he's a good player, not really proven though...

Well, I don't really know what to say about this, being a pilgrim and a fox I am being caught down the middle of this one :? What I can tell you is that Andy Kirk has been brilliant for him since we signed him. The 2 players we signed from Hearts, him and Austin McCann at left back have been brillitant and in my eyes they are far too good for League 2 football. I am not surprised that scouts have been to watch them, particularly Kirk, and if City do end up signing him he will end up being a great assett to the foxes, and a big miss to the pilgrims. I hope for Boston's point of view that we get the pilgrims get a good deal for him, in my opinion he is worth about £200,000, but I hope for City's point of view that we get him dirt cheap and he becomes the bargain of the season.....I am torn!!

If he scored shitloads for Hearts how the hell did he end up in the depths of Division 3 with Boston Utd? :?

TBH with you, I don't know how Boston got Kirk and McCann (as well as Derek Lilley, who f*cked off back to Livingston after 3 weeks, for £25,000 after we signed him on a free ). I think Kirk and McCann were impressed with Steve Evans and what he wanted to do for us. Kirk was injured early in the season and has only really been playing weekly since the middle of October, and he has already become a legend at the club...I just hope that Boston can keep him for longer, else then our 3 huge signings will have all buggered off before christmas (Kirk, Lilley, Gazza)

Whether he comes or not its refreshing to be linked with players of this type rather than the Adams type player - 35 and past it.

... and hopefully with a bit of quality.

Are you sure he has the ability to perfrom at this level, I mean he wasn't even that amazing in the SPL and most of the teams in there are shite.

Theres only one man (other than probably an agent, Craig Levein, Captain Kirk, LCFC chairman and board of directors....you get the point) who will know if this rumour is true...Mad Biker. What say you MB?

I got the impression he didn't get on with Levein - He could score two in a game one week and dropped to the bench the next. Hope it is true he's definitely a goal scorer!

Benjamin is proven at League 1 & 2, yeah SWAP!!!

What I don't understand though is why did Levein let him go from Hearts in the first place? if he is interested in him now.

I don't think theres any truth in this unless DD is interested in the Cambridge job or theres someone interested in loaning one of our strikers.I read this morning Norwich have 1.5 million to spend so they might come in with a offer for Scowcroft,£750,000 would do nicely I'd be tempted by £500,000.Our team really could do with a new face, freshen things up etc but its the same old problem..'no money'.

maybe craig is a mystick meg type and can see into the future. letting him go to boston on a free means we will get him cheaper off them than we would off hearts. wow the mans skills grow daily. well done mr levein

Bosten have turned down a five figuer sum for Kirk, so its back to the drawing baurd for Mr Levien

At least he is trying to sort out the problems

Hearts fan here - at work but listening to us crash out of Europe - so thought I'd cheer myself up but discussing our former star striker!

Andy Kirk is a decent player no better than that. When he's fit he's a decent goal scorer. He scored around 10 - 15 goals a season in the SPL but rarely against the top sides.

On his day he'll look fantastic, other times you won't notice him. I doubt he'd be physically strong enough to succeed in your league.

He is chronically injury prone too. That's one of the reasons he never got a new contract with us. The other being we were totally skint and had to lose players. As he missed at least a 1/3rd of each season he was with us he was a luxury that we couldn't afford.

Good luck tomorrow, a lot of Jambos are now keeping an eye on your results. More will follow after CL raids our squad in January! (Maybury seems to be a cert, you can have De Vries too)
