Precisely. I would add to this that he is still playing even though we have signed De Vries. I think De Vries is fit but cant be picked ahead of Scowy. Levein thought he had a deal to offload Scowy to Norwich, hence the signing of De Vries, when the Norwich deal fell flat they were left with a situation whereby Scowy had to play.

This also explains the inexplicable situation of Scowy playing right wing for most of his LCFC career.

I agree he played well on Sat but De Vries looks like he offers so much more. Are you saying that when De Vries is fit you would not pick him ahead of Scowy and indeed if you did pick De Vries you would play Scowy right wing ahead of Gillespie?

its true that we've had nobody better. on the right wing gillespie has been crap until recently and before last year we had nobody else to play there. up front this year scowy and connolly have been the only option since dublin turned out to be shite.

harry & wilko didn't drop scowy, they put him up front.

i dont think scowy played in the carling cup against PNE. so i'll change the statement to when did he last miss a league game when he was fit?

Do you think? Maybe if we had given Gillespie a proper go when he arrived he might have played as well as he is now? Scowy was obviosuly not deemed good enough to play up front for us for the majority of his time here.

Don't know if he's ever been left out of the squad for a 'proper' match.

I think it was more of a case of Gillespie was not deemed good enough to play on the right thus Scowcroft had to play there.
