One of the top items in the Arsenal stadium auction is this:
Lot 1913: A truly iconic feature of Highbury. This wooden match day display sign with red trim surround, white background with two half footballs and Arsenal crest provided a nod to a bygone era. Includes text for first ever game at Highbury; Woolwich Arsenal v Leicester Fosse, Saturday 6th September 1913 Kick Off 3.00 p.m. The first ever game at Highbury ended in a 2-1 victory for Woolwich Arsenal. Approx height 800mm, width 900mm, depth 120mm. (located close to the Marble Halls entrance to the East Stand)
Any Leicester fans got the cash to bid for this? Maybe we can 'win' it after 93 years.
The Arse should have invited us to play the last game at Highbury (or the first game at the new place), I'm sure some other clubs have done that when they've moved to a new ground. Maybe they wanted an easier game instead.
