Arctic Monkeys have revealed the first details of their new album.
The group, who won the Mercury Prize last week for the acclaimed debut "Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not", are now understood to be recording a follow-up.
Speaking about the recordings, which only began very recently, drummer Matt Helders suggested the Sheffield band would be taking their time.
He explained: "It's shaping up good. We started messing about with the new songs last Friday in our rehearsal room.
"We can't wait to get on with recording them. There's no pressure on us, no worries about that. We just can't wait to get going properly on them."
Meanwhile, singer and main creative force Alex Turner, elaborated further about the direction he expected the record to take.
"We have learned a lot as musicians, but we haven't started taking cocaine or 'owt like that. We could say 'we've moved on' but every band thinks that.
"There's a few themes, but I need to organise it. The first album was very organised. By writing a few songs, I manage to piece the idea where everything runs together and it becomes one story," he said.
