... off to Darlington on loan?

If his level is the BSBP then why the feck has he been contracted for so long?

He was a good prospect, he then had a couple of serious injuries which have scuppered his development I think.

IT would seem he has lost some speed as a result of the injuries. He looked a good player early in his career, i.e. a player that might make it from the Academy. :icon_conf

Ash is my mate's nephew. He's been at the club since he was eight. To be honest I'm gutted he's had these injuries and hasn't made the breakthrough. :icon_sad:

When was the last time we had a prospect who scored five goals in his first two England appearances? Answer: Ashley Chambers, a few years ago.

good - **** him off

I'd much rather you ****ed off, personally.

Which means **** all to his employment here really, he was obviously rated very highly (debut at such a young age) but has gone the same way as his old Grimsby team mate Tommy Wright. His assumed potential has obviously never been met

You honestly think that someone scoring at the highest level of youth football has got **** all to do with his employment as... a footballer? :102:

As you say, he was rated very highly. What would you do with a young player who is rated so highly? Let him go? Or tie him to a modest long term contract to see how he develops?

That's what City did and I don't think that's an unrerasonable approach. Unluckily, since then he's had two serious injuries (cruciate, broken leg) and at this stage it doesn't look like he'll be the big star he genuinely looked like he might be three of four years ago. Although he's only 20, so who knows.

When there has been no progress towards the full team since? Yes. His two previous pointless loan moves have shown he isn't thought of highly at those clubs so its time for him to move on.

I was just trying to answer your dumb question about why he was given a long contract. It's pretty evident that it hasn't worked out since but thanks for pointing it out.

He has had two serious injuries, this may have altered his footballing play, we might as well keep him and see if he can break through to the first team or wait until he recovers and maybe play him in a friendly to see how he does, because we can't just slag him off based on inferences other people have made, we have to give him a chance at least, and if he is s*** then ship him out to another team, simple really isn't it.

According to a family member he is still at leicester at the moment was asked to join Grimsby last season but didnt fancy it as he wasnt being played enough. Will know more tomorrow .
