"I've had no offer from Norwich City for James Scowcroft and I don't expect one either.
"But if clubs think they can come in and take any more of my players on the cheap then they are wrong.
"The only players who left this club in the summer were players I didn't want here or those who had clauses in their contracts which allowed them to leave.
"When those contracts were written, this club was in dire financial straits so the agents had the upper hand and there was nothing we could do about that. But no longer.

Meanwhile, Adams has also confirmed that defender Matt Elliott may miss the start of the season through injury.
Elliott could need surgery after suffering a knee problem in training.
"The surgery needed would not be major and it is as well to get it done now rather than carry on as it is," said Adams.
